Art at the ALC is a collaborative experience.  Studio lessons in digital imagery, acrylic painting, bookmaking, ceramics, figure drawing, etc. combine with the disciplines of social studies, science, language arts, and technology and answer essential questions.  For example, in language arts the question, "What makes a good soldier?"  was researched in literature and visual art.  The students made meaning of their learning by using the art elements and graphically depicting their "answer" on T-shirts.  By building on an inter-disciplinary experience, students engage in authentic studio experiences and are taught the skills to make their voice visible.
