Frequently Asked Questions about Parent Connect

What Is ParentConnect?
ParentConnect is a web-based tool parents may use to remain up-to-date regarding their child’s academic status.

If I have a concern about the grade information I see, what should I do?
If an assignment or test grade appears inaccurate, please check with your child, first. Your child should know details about the assignment or grade. If you have concerns about your child’s overall performance, contact his/her dean for assistance.

One way to help students become increasingly responsible for their learning is to provide them the opportunity to verify their current academic status. Speak with your child, first.

How current is the grade information parents will see on PARENTCONNECT?
Teachers update grades on the 15th and last day of each month.

What if my child doesn’t know how their current grade was determined?
Ask your child to approach their teacher (before/after class) to gather more information. Teachers will be willing to meet with any student at an appropriate time.

What if I continue to have questions or concerns?
Email or call your child’s dean or teacher. Teachers and deans will respond in a timely manner. See “Staff Directory” on the Chippewa website for contact information.

Am I bothering the teacher with my calls or emails?
Teachers may have over 180 students, so parent inquiries could add up in a hurry. Chippewa teachers appreciate the level of involvement parents demonstrate – this is one of the reasons our students typically do so well. While we welcome parent inquiries, we ask you to maintain reasonable expectations given teachers’ student loads.

PARENTCONNECT is one tool for you to learn about your child’s academic status. Use it with their assignment notebook and other course information provided by the teacher.

Can I view attendance or discipline information on ParentConnect?
Attendance information is updated overnight, therefore delayed one day.

Discipline related information is not available on ParentConnect.
