Forms
Resident students new to Mounds View Public Schools or entering from a nonpublic or home school setting must complete enrollment into the District. An enrollment packet with forms can be obtained from the school your student will attend.

Requirements
In addition to receiving this packet, you must provide a record of all student immunizations and proof of your residence within the school boundary area (driver's license, utility bill, rental/lease/purchase agreement). You may also be asked to provide a birth certificate. Contact the school for additional information, or to set up a time to register.

In-district transfers
Resident students of Mounds View Public Schools may apply to attend a school that is outside their school's attendance boundaries, yet still within the District. Applications for an intra-district transfer may be made based on the following reasons:

Intent to change residency - Families who move to a new address mid-year are offered the option to keep their student(s) at the District school they currently attend. (Transportation is NOT provided for students who live outside the boundary area for the school they are attending. If the daycare provider for the student resides within the attendance area boundaries, a student may access transportation from the daycare address. Contact the District Transportation Dept. for details.)

Daycare - if the student will be receiving daycare in the attendance area of a school other than the student's designated school.

Siblings - if the student's sibling already attends the school requested.

Employee request - an explanation must be provided.

A compelling educational reason - an explanation must be provided.

Intra-district transfers are offered and approved on a space-available basis with priority* given to requests where daycare is located within the school boundaries, or where older siblings already attend the requested school. Outside of these priorities, all requests must be accompanied by a Compelling Educational Reason why the assigned home school will not serve the students needs. Transfers are not offered for requests due to athletic ability or a student’s desire for a specific sport or team placement.
