Answers to Chapter 4 Practice Problems:

1.  X & Z

2.  (5.0 / 30.0) x 100 =  16.7g/100 cm....or 17g really because if sig digs.

3.  NO - not this time, because this was a chemical reaction instead of just a      simple dissoving process.  (The Magnesium has now become a Sulfate).

4.  Mass of solid = 36.4g - 34.3g = 2.1g

     Volume of Water = 43.7g - 36.4g = 7.3cm3  (Mass = Volume since it's water)

     Concentration =  (2.1 / 7.3) x 100 = 29g/100 cm3       (or .29 g/cm3)

5.  2.6 x 10-2g / 100cm3  =  100.0g / ?cm3
     by cross multiplication, ? = 3.8 x 105cm3

6.  Decreases

7.  Increases

8.  Sketch should be that of an increasing slope.  Below the curve is NOT
     saturated.  Above and at the line is saturated.
