Island
Lake's Media Center
Island Lake's
library media center is a busy place! Students in grades K-5 work with Information
Literacy Specialists on a weekly basis. They exchange books, listen to stories
and learn about literature and authors. They locate information about specific
topics using both print and Internet resources. They learn how to use computer applications
to create reports, art projects, posters, cards, graphs and slide
show presentations. The library staff works with individual
classes and teachers providing specific resources and technical
assistance for special projects. The library media center relies
on our many volunteers each week to shelve books and assist with
bulletin boards, laminating projects, material processing, fundraising,
reading promotions and general student and staff support.
