Current Assignments:

In class on Tuesday 4/15, I told them to turn in their Sample Quiz if they hadn't done so already.  Then they took the quiz - everyone finished within the class hour.  As they finished their quizzes, I gave them an updated grade printout for Quarter 4.  All latework is due by Thursday!!!

No class on Wednesday 4/16.

In class on Thursday 4/17, We started out with the 7.4 Investigation WS.  We worked through that for most of the hour, and the homework was to do WS Scientific Notation, but only Parts A & B left column only.

In class on Friday 4/18, I checked the homework.  Then I went over a few problems that were of a bit higher difficulty from the homework.  Thne we did #1-5 together on the WS "Working with Scientific Notation".  Their HW is to finish the WS "Working with Scientifi Notation" and on the WS "7.4 Scientific Notation" WS do the right column of parts A & B (so now everything but Part C and the middle column of A and B are done).

On Monday 4/21, we were in the computer lab MAP testing - no homework.

On Tuesday 4/22, there was a sub.  The homework was WS "A Look Back" - it is review of Ch 7 so far...

On Wednesday 4/23, ther was a sub.  The homework was WS "7.5 Intro".

On Thursday 4/24, I went over questions from the two worksheets from when I was gone.  Then we worked through sone problems and example A on the WS "7.5 Dividing Exponents", and the HW was #2 & 4 on that WS.  We'll finish it tomorrow.

On Friday 4/25, I went over #4d,e since those were a bit different and were missed most.  Then we did Example B, 3, 5 together in class.  Homework was WS "Review Day 1" -  review of all the exponent properties learned so far.

On Monday 4/28, I checked homework and then went over some of the common mistakes.  Then we did #1-3 on the WS "Word Problems Part 2".  The rest of the WS is homework.

On Tuesday 4/29, I checked the homework and went over #7 together in class.  Then we worked through the Investigation on WS "7.6 Investigation" and did the table on page 3 also.  Then the homework is to complete #1, 4, 5, 7 on the WS for tomorrow.

On Wednesday 4/30, I checked the homework, and we went over together many of the homework problems.  Then we completed the WS together!  The homework was to do WS "7.6 Zero and Negative Exponents" #2-4, 7-10.

On Thursday 5/1, I chcked homework and we did a lot of them together.  Then we discussed #1cd, 10d.  Homework is to finish the WS "7.6 Zero and Negative Exponents" #1, 5, 6, 11, 12 (in other words - all problems on the sheet must be complete.).

On Friday 5/2, I checked homework and we went over MANY in class.  The homework is WS "7.7 Fitting Exponential Models to Data" Exverything BUT the Example on the front.

On Monday 5/5, I checked homework and then we worked through some problems on WS "Review for Test".   The rest of the worksheet was homework.

On Tuesday 5/6, I checked the homework and we went through many of the problems on WS "Practice Test".  The homework was to finish it! Test Tomorrow!

On Wednesday 5/7, we tookthe test and they turned in any work to their folders.

On Thursday 5/8, we talked about what a polynomial was and the definition of that and monomials, binomials, and trinomials.  The we went through example problems from each section of the WS "Polynomials Part 1"

On Friday 5/9, I checked the homework while they did a warm-up.  We went over a few things from the previous HW that gave students trouble.  Then we went over two methods for mulitpling two binomials together - the box method and the FOIL method.  HW is the WS "Mulitplying Binomials".

On Monday 5/12, I checked the homework as the students worked on the warm-up,  We went over some of the common errors I saw when checking the homework.  Then on the board I showed some special cases of binomial times binomial.  I covered for a second time the BOX method and the FOIL method for multiplying a binomal times a binomial.  The homework was the WS "Distributive Property - FOIL"

On Tuesday 5/13, I checked homework while they did a warm-up.  We went over the previous day's warm-up which lead us into what we did today.  The WS "More practice of Polynomials" works through factoring out the GCF, grouping, and more practice with FOIL & BOX methods.

Upcoming Quizzes/Tests

Test on all of Ch 7 on Wednesday 5/7.  All latework is due then!
