About the District
The Mounds View School District, located in a suburban area approximately nine miles north of downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, includes seven cities with 76,193 residents who work predominantly in the skilled trades, managerial or professional areas. The school district population of approximately ten thousand students is served by six elementary, three middle schools, and two senior high schools. Both high schools are comprehensive ninth through twelfth grade schools.

Mounds View High School, with a student enrollment of 1,943 students and a senior class of 514 students, is accredited through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Of the 100 faculty members, over half have advanced degrees.


Curriculum
College credit is offered for full or part time college attendance under the Minnesota Post-secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program, as well as through the Mounds View-based University of Minnesota College in the Schools (CIS) University Writing and Introduction to Literature courses. Advanced Placement (AP) courses offered include: Calculus I & II, Statistics, English Literature, English Language, US Government, Macroeconomics, US History, Psychology, and Art History. In addition to classes offered for college credit, Mounds View offers Honors English 9 and 10, Honors Humanities, Honors College Writing Lab, an accelerated Math sequence and Accelerated Chemistry and Physics.
