2004 Truth in Taxation Report

The Board officially certified the property tax levy for taxes payable in 2004. The final 2004 net tax levy for all District funds is $25,974,959.96. This is an $8.3 million dollar increase from the 2003 school district tax levy. Approximately $6.3 million is related to the operating levy passed in November 2003. $1.5 million is the result of legislative changes to funding formulas, and $500,000 is related to other changes. On December 4, the School Board held a public hearing on the amount of property taxes it was proposing to collect to pay for the costs of the District for the 2004-2005 school year.
