July 13, 2011 -- Mounds View's middle schools and high schools will host five World and Open Class drum and bugle corps on July 16, as the groups compete in the Drum Corps International (DCI) competition at TCF Bank Stadium that night. The corps will arrive early in the morning (between 1 and 2 a.m.) at Chippewa, Edgewood, Highview, Irondale and Mounds View, sleeping in the gyms and rehearsing on the football fields during the day until about 5 or 6 p.m. before departing for the competition on Saturday evening.  Rehearsals are open to the public during the day. 

Mounds View Public Schools and Community Education in conjunction with DCI are proud to host the following corps: Racine Scouts ( Racine, WI) at Chippewa; Boston Crusaders ( Boston, MA) at Edgewood; Blue Saints ( Sudbury, ON) at Highview; Blue Stars ( La Crosse, WI) at Irondale; and Carolina Crown ( Ft. Mill, SC) at Mounds View.
