March 8, 2011 -- Hundreds of students and families gathered for the 14th annual Mounds View High School Physics Fair on March 7 at Mounds View High School. Irondale High School will host its 8th annual Physics Fair on March 22 at 6 p.m. at Irondale High School.
In conjunction with the Physics Fair, Irondale will host its third annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Career Fair. Students and parents will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from several local companies, government agencies, and universities that involve STEM careers.
More than 500 students District-wide are expected to participate in this year's Physics Fairs. The Physics Fairs highlight the results of students' long-term group projects in which five components are assembled into a chain reaction sequence and principles of physics and engineering are put into practice. Funding for the Physics Fairs is provided by the Mounds View Schools Education Foundation.
