Newsweek ranks District high schools among best in the nation

May 21, 2012-- Newsweek's annual ranking of the best public high schools in America was released this month revealing Irondale High School and Mounds ViewHigh School among the top 20 schools in Minnesota and among the top 1,000 public schools across the nation. Newsweek's rankings highlight schools throughout the country that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads. The list is based on six components provided by school administrators: graduation rate, college matriculation rate, AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB/AICE scores, and AP courses offered per student.
