Enrollment Information Nights
Transition time for families of fifth-graders and eighth-graders officially begins next month, when District middle schools and high schools host Enrollment Information Nights. Families can meet the principal, teachers, parents and students; visit classrooms; explore the curriculum; and discover opportunities beyond the classroom. Both high schools will host their event on January 9 at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Middle schools will host Enrollment Nights on January 10 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Edgewood and at 7 p.m. at Highview. Chippewa Middle School will host Enrollment Night on January 17 at 6:30 p.m. Elementary schools will host Kindergarten Round Up Information Nights on February 9.

Weather-related school closings
With winter just around the corner and the possibility of sub-zero temperatures and severe snow conditions looming, the District has taken a closer look at school-closing procedures and communications. While the process and focus for weather-related closings will not change this year, Mounds View Public Schools families should be prepared to see one of three designations for our school days this winter season: School DaySevere Weather Day or Snow Day. The District's web site and Weather Watch Hotline at 651-621-SNOW will offer 24-hour access to the latest weather-related school news. For more details, read Superintendent Dan Hoverman's column on snow day decision-making.
