Highview teacher named Educator of the Year 2007

Maureen Haqq, a language arts teacher at Highview Middle School, has been chosen as the Minnesota Middle School Level Educator of the Year 2007. The Minnesota Middle School Association presents this award annually to outstanding middle level educators who inspire others through their dedication and commitment to a responsive learning environment for young adolescents. Haqq was chosen for her dedication, exceptional skill, involvement in community, her belief in the worth and dignity of every person, as well as being a model of true professionalism. Haqq will be honored at a Highview Middle School event in early November and will be honored at the Minnesota Middle School Association conference on Thursday, November 29.
