Task Forces Convene
Throughout each school year, several community members and District employees collaborate on a variety of task forces and committees. The purpose of each group is to study many aspects of an issue and gather input from parents, staff, administrators and community members and make recommendations for District action. World Languages Task Force
Options During the January 12 School Board meeting, the Board reviewed and discussed several options for adding a World Language program to the elementary and middle schools. Each of the options addresses feedback gathered through community engagement and provides pros and cons if implemented. Dowload options here. Board members indicated they would likely take action on an option at the January 27 School Board meeting. Background A new program would: * move students progressively toward language proficiency * cause no disruption to the elementary and middle school core curriculum * be cost neutral with no additional staffing expenses A task force of principals, teachers and parents has been studying issues related to world language implementation and will recommend options for the School Board’s consideration.
