Summary of Board, Supt. and Principal comments
Throughout 2008-09, Mounds View will develop a plan for implementing an elementary, middle and high school World Languages program in 2009-10.

Background
A new program would:
* move students progressively toward language proficiency
* cause no disruption to the elementary and middle school core curriculum
* be cost neutral with no additional staffing expenses

In addition, planning is underway to consider adding another language in the high schools.

A task force of principals, teachers and parents has been studying issues related to world language implementation and will recommend options for the School Board’s consideration.
