• Update 5/21/20

After thoughtful consideration, using guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health and the CDC, we have made the difficult decision to cancel summer day camps to help keep campers, staff and our community safe and healthy.

We will process full refunds for all registration fees. We hope to have all refunds processed in the next 7-10 business days to your original form of payment. Please note payments made by check will be mailed and can take 3-4 weeks.

We know everyone was looking forward to an exciting summer of camps, and we hope that you will join us for online summer programming. We are currently working on transitioning many programs into a online virtual format. Please watch for District communications as new online summer opportunities become available.

If you are currently looking for an alternative summer care program within our District, care maybe available at the following:

Our new traditional summer day camp sessions will feature a new theme each week and be offered for the morning and afternoon sessions for students in grades K-3 & 4-7. Each session will include gym time, science experiments, art projects, outdoor adventures and more. Sign up for a whole day of summer fun or pair it with another summer day camp to create a full-day experience!

Reduce some summer stress with our extended morning drop-off hour and afternoon pick-up hour included in your summer camp registration! Campers can be dropped off as early as 8 a.m. and picked up as late as 5 p.m. giving families a little more flexibility in their day.

Create a full day of fun with the Lunch Bunch program. For families  looking for full-day options, the Lunch Bunch program is a perfect way to connect morning and afternoon camps. Lunch Bunch provides a supervised lunch hour but does require students to bring their own lunch. Registration is in addition to camp registration, and the cost is $10 per week.

Experience high-quality supervision and a new field trip destination every Friday with our Field Trip Fridays! Field trips range between $55 to $65 per field trip and require students to bring a bag lunch.  Drop-off is at Turtle Lake Elementary School from 8 - 9:30 a.m. with pick-up from 4:30 - 5 p.m.

We look forward to making sure participants have a great time this summer and are safe while in our care. We ask that you help us by following the guidelines below:

    • Elementary and middle school participants enrolled in camps or activities during the summer should be checked in and out of the camp by a parent/guardian or caregiver who has been authorized for pick up with a validpPhoto ID.

    • Please make sure that your emergency contact information is current and accommodation/medical needs are included in your child’s registration.

    • Please complete your camper Information form when it is emailed to you at the beginning of summer.

Registration is now available through Mounds View Community Education. Summer Band runs from July 6-July 30 (Mondays through Thursdays). Small-group lessons for each instrument are offered during the morning and evening. Scholarships are available for families who qualify. The Early Bird deadline is June 15. Click HERE to view your course options and complete the online registration.

Renting an instrument is a very typical way for a student to try band without the initial expense of an instrument. The Mounds View Band Program has an account with 3 local music vendors who will offer a 4-month trial plan with the rental of any instrument. You may also purchase a music stand for practice at home.  Select a store below to complete a rental plan.  What’s the difference between “new”, “slightly used” and “used” instruments?  Click HERE for those descriptions.

The French Horn, Baritone and Tuba are rented through the school (students receive 2 instruments- one to keep at home and one to keep at school). Other instruments may be available to rent through school for families who qualify for financial assistance.

All instrument rentals and any other materials will be available for curb-side pick up at designated schools during the last week of June.  Details will be provided at a later date.  (Instruments should not be handled until our first lesson!)

For further assistance with registration or instrument rental, complete this google form by clicking HERE. One of our band directors will be able to contact you after you submit the form.

For other questions regarding Summer Band, please e-mail our summer band coordinator at

If you chose to purchase an instrument, we recommend finding a name-brand instrument from a reputable music dealer. Below is a list of quality instrument brands. Used instruments can be looked over at any reputable music store or instrument repair store.
