Best Communities for Music Education
In 2019, Mounds View Public Schools was one of only 10 school districts in Minnesota to earn the Best Communities for Music Education designation. It's the seventh consecutive year the District was honored for demonstrating exceptional efforts toward maintaining music education as part of the core curriculum.
Most challenging in the state
In 2017, the Washington Post ranked both high schools among the Top 10 "Most Challenging" in the state. Irondale and Mounds View routinely rank on the annual list of "Most Challenging High Schools" in the nation.
Best High Schools
Both high schools are consistently recognized among the top high recognized among the top high schools in the nation on the U.S. News & World Report list of "Best High Schools." Irondale and Mounds View were both ranked among the best in the nation for exceeding expectations when it comes to student performance on reading and math tests, and for preparing students for college in 2018.
ACT outpaces the state
For the 11th consecutive year, Mounds View Public Schools high school students earned an everage ACT score (23.5) that surpasses both the Minnesota and average (21.5) and the national average (21). This is especially noteworthy considering 98 percent of all juniors take the exam.
National Merit Top 5
Mounds View Public Schools ranked among the Top 5 school districts in the state for the most 2019 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, with a total of 20 students between Irondale and Mounds View.
