Field Trips

  • Medication Administration

Extended day and overnight field trips are a part of the educational, co curricular and extra curricular activities program sponsored by Mounds View Schools.

School regulations for medication administration apply to insure students’ safe participation.

For Students requiring prescription medication/s during the Field Trip

Health and Medical Release Form for Laurentian and other Extended Day Overnight Field Trips (includes medication authorization) must be completed and signed by a licensed health care provider for any prescription medication administered. Medication authorizations already on file may need to be amended to cover times of administration outside the typical school day.

For Students needing non-prescription (over-the-counter) medication during the Field Trip

Parent/guardian may give permission for the student to receive non-prescription (over-the-counter medication) by submitting the Health and Medical Release Form for Laurentian and other Extended Day Overnight Field Trips. Medication must be in its original container labeled with the student’s name. No medication will be administered to a student unless it has been provided by the parent.

    Dietary Issues

Special dietary requests cannot be guaranteed during the Laurentian (LEC) trip, but every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate particular dietary needs of students if sufficient notice is given by a parent.
