What is P-EBT?
Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) is a federal temporary emergency nutrition benefit available to families with children who are approved for Educational Benefits and when school operations are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. P-EBT was first implemented in the spring of 2020 in response to school closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. P-EBT is a joint effort between the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS).
