• Our 2022 Season was one of many ups and downs. In one of the most competitive conferences in the state, the SEC, Irondale finished 8th of the 10 teams. The knights held a conference record of 4-14 and a non-conference record of 1-0 during the regular season. Of the 8 teams in our section, 5AAAA, Irondale was ranked sixth. Our first game was a nail biter loss to (3) Champlin Park 5-4 in 7 innings. We then had the privilege of hosting a section game being the higher seed vs (7) Park Center. The Knights came away with a 10-0 victory in 5 innings. Next, we faced the Panthers of (4) SLP and, with an early lead, we got another win with a score of 7-2. Again, we came to face the Rebels of (3) Champlin Park but this time at (2) Maple Grove. It was win twice or go home. The Knights and Rebels battled this game into extra innings with a score of 0-0 after the 7th innings of regulation. Irondale wasn't able to bring in a run in the 8th inning and the Rebels took advantage. With 2 outs, they were able to score the game-winning run in walk-off fashion. The Knights lost their final game of the year, 1-0. The overall record for this team was 7-16.
