Sunnyside Fun Run

  • Sunnyside PTA will be kicking off our 1st annual Sunnyside Fun Run Fundraiser on Wednesday, November 2nd! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and will help us enrich the learning experience for ALL Sunnyside students.

    Your tax-deductible donations will:

    • support teachers and staff with classroom expenses

    • fund grade level field trips, Artist-in-Residence program, and the Sunnyside Musical 

    • bring families, staff and community together through fun events - Family Bingo Night & Sunnyside Carnival

    • provide staff appreciation

    • and much more!

    OUR TOTAL SCHOOL GOAL is $30,000.00

    When we reach our school goal we will be able to move forward in the process of planning and implementing a brand new outdoor classroom for Sunnyside!

    3. Share with friends and family, they want to help!

      • Send 10-15 emails and/or text messages

      • Post Facebook or Twitter

      • Help your child reach their goal in 24/48 hours

    Collecting Donations

    • All Donations are tax deductible. Receipts will be sent for donations over $250.

    • Online donations are a great way to reach distant family and friends. They are secure for you and your donors and efficient for us to track and collect. We are using GetMovin as our online platform to help create an easy and fun way to raise and track donations. 

    • Cash or Check donations should be placed and sealed into the provided envelope and turned in by Thursday, November 17 to ensure they go towards classroom goals.

      • Checks should be made payable to Sunnyside PTA

    • Corporate Matching Gifts: Many employers will match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. Consider asking your employer if they will match your donation. If you need our EIN number to submit your request, please email us at

      • Since this can be a long process, please send us a copy of the confirmation that your donation will be matched so that we can count it towards your child’s classroom goals. Confirmations should be emailed to:



    • All students that register online will receive a prize!

    • Students that raise $100 will get to enjoy a custard with Principal Thompson

    • Students will celebrate with their class once they meet their classroom goal (based on number of students) with a teacher’s choice activity – Extra Recess, Pajama Day, Movie Day, Dance Party, etc

    • Top 3 fundraisers will receive a $100 Gift Card to their choice of local indoor activities (choose from Eagle’s Nest, Shoreview Community Center, InnerActive or Zero Gravity)

    • When we reach the school goal, all students will get to help duct tape Principal Thompson to the wall!
