Walk for Water

  • In May, Mounds View High School’s H2O for Life club raised more than $1,500 at its third annual Walk for Water. See the full blog post here.

Performance at Target Field

  • More than 240 fifth- and sixth-graders who participated in the District's summer orchestra program performed the National Anthem at a Minnesota Twins game in September. See more photos below, courtesy of Carlos Gonzales at the Star Tribune.

Senior Sunrise

  • During the first week of school, Mounds View high School seniors gathered to watch the sunrise from Mustang Stadium. In June, they will gather again to watch the sun set on their high school experiences. See more photos here

CEO for a day

  • Edgewood Middle School sixth-grader Will Bock recently had the opportunity to act as CEO for a day thanks to a partnership with Junior Achievement and local construction company Mortenson. After his experience, Will sat down for an interview with Mortenson CEO Dan Johnson. Read the full interview here

Econ Team travels to Germany

  • Led by teacher and Fulbight recipient Martha Rush, four Econ Team students from Mounds View High School traveled to Germany this summer to compete in the Young Economic Summit competition with student teams from other countries. Read Martha's blog post about the trip here

Awareness for safe driving

  • After a series of recent driving accidents involving District students, high school athletes from both Irondale and Mounds View teamed up in September to bring awareness to safe driving. Players from both girls soccer teams wore special jerseys with a message on the back that read, “Drive Safe, Someone Loves You.” Watch the CBS News story about the initiative below.
