Registration 2020-21

  • In the spirit of school to home partnership, and in keeping with the understanding that parents/guardians know their children best, we urge families to consider things such as student interest, social/co-curricular commitments, and balance when registering for classes. Parents/guardians are also encouraged to ask questions, review resources, and aid their children in the selection of courses. All materials used for instruction are carefully considered by teams of teachers to meet the needs of each student. Deans and teachers can support students and families in the course selections and in the selections of alternative materials if needed.

Registration Timeline

  • Current 8th Grade Students

    January: 
    High School deans meet with Middle School students to discuss registration (January 6 - Highview and January 7 - Chippewa).

    Students may meet individually with their dean to discuss registration options.
     
    January 3:
    Enrollment begins for students new to Mounds View School District schools.
     
    January 9:
    8th Grade Information Night. All eighth grade students, parents and non-public school families are invited to learn more about Mounds View Public Schools. 

    6:00 pm-7:00 pm - MVHS Auditorium - All incoming 9th grade students and parents will hear from the principals and activities director about the Mounds View High School experience.

    7:00-7:30 pm - MVHS Forum - College Seminar information meeting

    7:00-8:00 pm - Activities Fair - Learn about sports, clubs, and activities at MVHS
     
    7:00-8:00 pm - Department leaders will be available to answer questions about specific courses in the Commons. 
      
    January 31 - February 14:
    Online registration will be available through StudentVUE.
     
    Students/families will complete the online registration at their middle school. Please contact your dean with any questions

    Current 9th, 10th and 11th Grade Students

    January 14:
    Students will learn about the registration process by watching this video. Teachers will discuss course options and answer student questions. From January 14th to February 4th, families are encouraged to review the course registration guide and fill out their registration form completely (students will receive this form in class on the 14th and copies are available on the right margin of this page). Students are to bring their completed registration form to school on February 4th and 6th so they are able to register in their English Language Arts class with a dean. Students are encouraged to ask teachers and deans questions about courses prior to the registration dates.
     
    January 31 - February 14:
    Online registration will be available through StudentVUE
     
    February 4 and 6:
    Students will register for courses in their English Language Arts class. Online registration will be available through StudentVUE. Students who do not have an English Language Arts class should schedule a meeting with their dean in early February to complete the process.
     
    February 14:
    The registration window closes at 3:00PM. All course registrations are final at this time.
