    AFTER-SCHOOL ACADEMIC SUPPORT

Highview has made a recent change to our after-school academic support for students.  Our focus is now content based.  Each content area (Math, Science, Language Arts, Spanish, and Social Studies) is taught by a teacher from that content area.  In addition, we offer a quiet area for students to read silently or take/retake a test.

This new change was created to provide as much to support to our students as we possibly can.  If you have any questions, please contact your student’s dean or Dr. Eller.

STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROCEDURES

Just a few reminders when dropping off and picking up your children at school:

Please pull to the right of the inner circle using just a single lane.   Have your children enter and exit the vehicle quickly and safely. Continue to stay in a single lane when exiting the lot.

The outer large circle is for buses only during drop off and pick up.  Please do not enter that area.

Our number one priority is the safety of your children.  Please be aware of students in the lots going between vehicles. We ask that you also have a conversation with your children about safety in the lots.  Using crosswalks is always the best choice!

Thank you for helping to keep our students safe!  Hawk Pride!

    REGISTRATION STILL OPEN

PARENTS OF CURRENT 6TH GRADE STUDENTS

Mark your calendars now for the 7th grade trip to the Laurentian Environmental Center next fall.  For many students in the Mounds View School District, their trip to the Laurentian Environmental Center (LEC) was a highlight of their middle school years.  We are very excited to announce an opportunity for our current 6th grade students to participate in the Laurentian trip in the fall of 2016.  Students will spend 3 days and 2 nights of educational and team-building activities in the north woods of Minnesota.

Trip 1: Monday, October 24th through Wednesday October 26th.

Trip 2: Wednesday, October 26th through Friday, October 28th

LEC is a public residential educational facility that combines environmental education, leadership training and outdoor skills recreation programs.  Please visit the LEC website at www.laurentiancenter.org  for more information.

More information will be forthcoming about this exciting opportunity.
