STUDENT COUNCIL ASKING FOR YOUR HELP!

It is once again the time of the year when Student Council takes time to appreciate all of the hard-working staff at Highview.  Highview Staff Appreciation Week sponsored by Student Council will be taking place April 6th - 10th. One of the ways Student Council would like to honor office staff, teachers, support staff, custodial staff, and lunchroom staff is by providing treats throughout the week through a daily treat cart and daily staff award drawings. This is where we could use your help! We are looking for community support and donations (in addition to the Student Council money we spend) to help supply our treat cart and make this week special for all Highview staff.

Donations will be accepted at Highview from Thursday, March 31 through Friday, April 8th.  Donations may be dropped off in the main office. If you have questions about donating or have a connection in the community that would be willing to help make our Staff Appreciation Week successful, please contact Stacey Olinger, Student Council Advisor (stacey.olinger@moundsviewschools.org) or Sam Carew (sam.carew@moundsviewschools.org).

In the past, the following items have been present on our treat cart and in daily staff award drawings:

    - Snack Items (granola bars, chips, trail mix, 100 calorie snacks, etc)

    - Beverages (K-Cups, water, soda, tea, etc)

    - Sweets (chocolate, candy, gum, cookies, etc)

    - Classroom supplies (fun post-its, pens, extra pencils, whiteboard markers)

    - Fruit (apples, clementine)

    - $5.00 Gift Cards (Target, coffee, restaurants, Barnes and Noble, etc)

    We appreciate your consideration!

    Sincerely,

    Highview Student Council 2015/2016

    AFTER-SCHOOL ACADEMIC SUPPORT

Highview has made a recent change to our after-school academic support for students.  Our focus is now content based.  Each content area (Math, Science, Language Arts, Spanish, and Social Studies) is taught by a teacher from that content area.  In addition, we offer a quiet area for students to read silently or take/retake a test.

This new change was created to provide as much to support to our students as we possibly can.  If you have any questions, please contact your student’s dean or Dr. Eller.

PARENTS OF CURRENT 6TH GRADE STUDENTS
