    CONGRATULATIONS!!

    Congratulations to Diana Cagigas, Highview 7th grader, who has been selected as the First Place Winner in the 2015-2016 League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions Essay Contest.

    Diana, along with her family, is invited to attend an award ceremony on Saturday, May 14th to read her essay aloud and receive her award. 

    Congratulations Diana!  We are so proud of you!  Hawk Pride!

     

    VIP VISITOR

    Congresswoman Betty McCollum visited Highview Middle School this week to see firsthand what great things are happening in music education in our district.  Mounds View Public Schools was one of only six school districts in Minnesota to earn Best Communities for Music Education designation.  The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) recognized the District for its outstanding commitment to music education with the Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) designation. Mounds View Public Schools was one of only six school districts in Minnesota, and 476 school districts in the country, to be selected to receive the award for demonstrating exceptional efforts toward maintaining music education as part of the core curriculum. This is the fourth consecutive year that the District has been recognized with this award.

     

    BOOK FAIR NEXT WEEK!!

    The Highview Scholastic BOGO Bookfair is coming NEXT WEEK! It is a buy one--get one free sale with a great selection of current books!  The fair will run three days only...May 10, 11, and 12 from 7:15-3:00 PM. If you are interested in volunteering at the fair, please follow this link to sign up.

     

    COMMNITY EDUCATION SUMMER CAMPS

    MOUNDS VIEW HIGH SCHOOL DANCE TEAM TRYOUTS

    The Mounds View Viewettes Dance Team is holding Dance Tryouts for current 7th-11th graders on May 11th and 12th from 3-5 pm in the Mounds View High School Gym. Come join the Viewettes,  who went to State the last two years and were named 2016 SEC Conference Champions in both Kick and Jazz!  All dancers are welcome!!  Please bring a water bottle, tennis shoes and jazz shoes, wear your hair up and tight-fitting clothing.  Hope to see you there!

     

    SPRING BOARD GAME FESTIVAL

    The end-of- the-year Spring Board Game Festival will be held from 6-10 PM on  Friday, May 13th at Irondale High School. The Open Gaming Library will be available or you may bring your own. The featured tournaments will be RISK and Double Bughouse Chess (2 player teams).
