The 7th grade class will be broken into two groups...one group will go March 6-8 (Trip 1) and the other group March 8-10, 2017 (Trip 2). Students will leave from Edgewood Middle School at 7 a.m. and return at approximately 4:00 p.m. Students will need to be picked up from Edgewood upon their return. The necessary forms can be found below. The first 100 students who turn their registration forms in by December 20, will get first pick for which trip you want to be on, March 6-8, or March 8-10. Please note on the top of your registration form "Trip 1" or "Trip 2" if you hand in before that time. After that date, staff will split the students between the two trips.

- As a non-resident currently enrolled in our STEAM magnet school, your student will be allowed to remain at Edgewood Middle School through 8th grade, with transportation provided by the NWSISD.
- Beginning immediately, Edgewood will no longer be inviting "new" non-resident students into our school through the magnet program. STEAM will remain a cornerstone of our curriculum, but we will no longer serve as a magnet school.
- If our current magnet students remain here next year, we will continue to host approximately 40 students from the collaborative school districts.

Our upcoming STEAM class field trips are listed below. All field trips are FREE and will return back to Edgewood by 4:00 p.m. Students may take the after-school activity bus, walk home or be picked up by a parent. If your student is in any of the STEAM classes listed below, please remind them to get their permission forms signed and turned into the school office ASAP.The "Picture Perfect Publishing" STEAM Class will be going on a field trip Friday, December 9, to the Minnesota Center for the Book Arts in Minneapolis. Students will leave at 1:15 p.m. and return to Edgewood at 3:45 p.m.The "How Did We Get Here?" STEAM Class will be going on a field trip Friday, December 16, to the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis. While there, students will experience a baking lab called "A Taste of Immigration". Students will explore geography, history, and food of five nationalities that have made Minnesota their home and make an authentic treat. Students will then go on a scavenger hunt through the museum. Students will leave at 1:20 p.m. and return back to Edgewood by 3:45 p.m. Permission forms should be turned in to Mrs. Sauter or Ms. Rodstein. Our upcoming STEAM Showcase will be on Wednesday, January 25, from 1:30 - 2:45 p.m. We are looking for guest "judges" to help judge the students' work. Your time would consist of a brief orientation about the Showcase and then you will be assigned a class to "judge". Our hope is to have two or more judges per classroom. Registration for winter sports (Basketball, Indoor Soccer, Floor Hockey, and Swimming) is now available online here. Reminder that skiing/snowboarding registration deadline is Monday, December 5. The Skiing/Snowboarding Program will meet on Monday and Tuesday of each week beginning Monday, December 12. Food Taste Testing: Earn some extra $$CASH$$ and sample some really great food. All you have to do is log on and register at www.fpitesters.com.
Box Tops: Please save all of your box tops and turn them in at Edgewood. There is a drop box in the front office of the school. This is just another way to earn money for our kids. Please be sure Box Tops are not expired as they will not accept.
