He originally went to school to study atmospheric science and planned a career in broadcast meteorology before changing to education.   He taught 4th grade for four years before adding a middle school science license. He has taught 7th and 8th grade science for the past 6 years.

He enjoys spending time with his wife, who is also a teacher, and one-year-old son, Auggie.  Mr. C enjoys geocaching and playing Pokemon Go!

8th grade has been studying geology this semester, including rocks, minerals and chemistry.  The second half of the year focuses on space and weather.

Before coming to Highview,  she taught seventh and eighth grade science in East St. Paul for three and a half years. She attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI where she received her degree in elementary education and minored in integrated sciences and fine arts with a focus in music. She currently lives in Vadnais Heights with her husband Ramon and their cat and dog.

Semester Units: The students in sixth grade started the year learning about scientific inquiry and are currently studying force and motion.  Next semester, the students will begin learning about waves. They will end the year exploring energy through an exciting project known as "The Penguin Project". In this project, students will use all the knowledge they have accumulated throughout the year to try and save the penguins of Antarctica!
