    FIRST CHIPPEWA EVENT OF 2017: FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT

    Just a reminder that ChAC will be hosting Chippewa’s first event of 2017, this Friday, January 13!  Join us and other families in watching “Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life.”

     

    Bring chairs, pillows, blankets - think outdoor park movie (but in January and warm in the cafeteria!).  Light snacks will be available for purchase but you are welcome to bring your own food (peanut-free) and drinks as well.

    FIRST LEGO LEAGUE

    Congratulations to all three Chippewa FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams who competed in their sectionals tournament this weekend.  The Dots, WYLDE, and Brickstormers all advanced to the FLL state tournament!

     

    All three teams also won an award at their competition.  The Dots won an award for Best Core Values (teamwork and sportsmanship), WYLDE won a Judge's Award for their presentations, and Brickstormers won an award for Best Robot Design.

    The FLL state competition will be on Saturday, February 25 at Washington Technology Magnet school in St. Paul.  Good luck to all teams at state!

     

    COMMUNITY ED

    Just a reminder that there is NO ski/snowboard club Tuesday, January 17.

     

    6TH GRADE INTEGRATED SCIENCE STUDENTS

    Just a reminder to turn in your permission slip to Mr. Weiger for the field trip on Friday, January 20 to Quanex.

     

    MURAL CLUB

    Due to the January 3 cancellation, mural club will have their last meeting on Tuesday, January 31.  

     

    STRATEGY TABLETOP GAMERS

    If you are interested in learning new styles and new types of board games like Catan, Ticket to Ride, Acquire, 7 Wonders, Memoir 44', or Velociraptor! this is the group for you.  We play cooperative and competitive games.  We will meet Tuesdays in the Cafeteria from 2:45 to 4pm.  Register online here.

     

    CHESS CLUB

    If you are wanting to learn, or continue to play chess at the middle school level, join this club!  We will meet on Wednesday mornings from 7-7:45am in room 104 (Ms. Skildum’s art room).  You will be provided with opportunities to play in tournaments or just have fun at the club meetings.  Registration is now open!

     

    PARENT MEETING FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION

    In response to the October 2016 Special Education Parents Survey and the first Special Education Parent and Professional Advisory Council (SEPPAC) meeting attendees, SEPPAC will hold an informational meeting covering frequently asked special education questions. These frequently asked questions will include: transition, educational evaluations, IEPs, communication, modifications including para support, extra curricular activities, etc.  

     

    Please join us on Thursday, February 2, from 6:45-8:15pm at Snail Lake Education Center.
