HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT THE HIGHVIEW INNOVATION PROGRAM?
Your time and talent - If you or someone you know works in an engineering or design field and would be willing to come in to share with the students about their career, or would be willing to come in as a coach or mentor, please let us know. We do not expect all of our students to become engineers, but the more they know about how their learning connects to the “real world” the better.
Your “stuff” - The Mounds View district has invested a great deal in providing our students with access to new fabrication technologies. We have budgeted for all students to be able to make the things required by our curriculum, but we want students to be able to work on independent projects and extend what is happening in class. Having a wide variety of materials on hand is a critical part in inspiring creativity. Donationions either monetarily or actual items for our program are much appreciated. Items we are looking to purchase or receive include:
Wood Boards (unpainted)
Bungee Cords (all sizes)
Glass panels for engraving
Nails (new unrusted)
Spooled wire 16-22 Awg.
LED lights (electronic size)
New Technology and Tools:
Raspberry Pi 3 model B
Raspberry Pi Camera module V2
Adafruit trinket mini microcontrollers
Electronics soldering irons
Wind turbine for 12 volt charging
Small Electric Motors
Small solar panels 3-5 volt
1 large solar panel (approx. 4’x2’)for 12 volt charging
Irondale Bands would like to invite you to their annual “All-You-Can-Eat Bandcake Breakfast” on Saturday, January 21, from 8-11am at the Eagles Club in New Brighton (563 Old Hwy 8). There will be pancakes, sausage, fruit, milk, coffee, and orange juice. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the Westside Band Festival, held at Irondale on Thursday, January 19, or at the door Saturday morning. Thank you, in advance, for supporting the Irondale Band Program.
