    Bel Air Student Council Food Drive

    The Student Council is promoting a food drive next week, March 6-10.  Items will be given to the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf.

    Students are encouraged to bring the following:

    Monday: Canned food

    Tuesday: Baking items

    Wednesday:  Boxed dinners

    Thursday: Toiletries

    Friday: Bring it all Friday




    The Lost and Found is overflowing.  Be sure to check it over the next few weeks and when you're here for Communication Night for any items your student may be missing.  During spring break, all items will be donated.



    • Students can register and set-up their projects in the gym from 4pm to 7pm on Monday, March 6th and from 7:30 am to 8:45 am on Tuesday, March 7th.

    • Thank you to all the parent volunteers who have signed-up to help on Tuesday, this will be our biggest fair yet! 

    • We could still use a couple more afternoon volunteers from 12 pm to 3pm, if you already have a background check complete with the school and can spare some time for our Bel Air kids, please email Laura Scheid laura.scheid@wspgroup.com.

    • Families are encouraged to attend the Open House from 5:30 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday

    • All are welcome to stay after the fair from 7 pm to 8 pm to help clean-up after the event.

    Join the Highview Middle School cast and crew as they present “Beauty and the Beast, Jr.“ on Thursday and Friday, March 2nd and 3rd at 7:00 PM and again on Saturday, March 4th at 2:00 PM.    

    Tickets are available for $5.00 in the Highview Office this week, as well as thirty minutes prior to show time. 

    There will be no reserved seating and seats fill fast, so please plan accordingly.  

     We hope to see you there!!


    Start times work continues

    As the School Board continues to work towards a start times decision this spring, a transportation consultant asked the District to consider adjusting some parameters. The Board agreed to support flexibility with the following parameters if another option can be created.

    • Some elementary schools and middle schools might have slightly different start times within their levels.

              • For efficiency, the entire fleet of different-sized buses might be used more                           creatively, depending on neighborhood densities or traffic patterns. 

    This spring, the District will continue to work with the consultant and bring updates to future School Board meetings. Communication and information about start times will continue to be shared with families through e-newsletters, at School board meetings and updated at www.moundsviewschools.org/starttimes.


    Community Activities and Program Offerings

    In addition to the youth programs and enrichment opportunities available through the District's community education department, a number of activities, camps and youth programs are hosted by area cities, local businesses, community organizations and school PTA groups.  Please visit the Bel Air website (click on “Parent Resources” and then “E-Flyers”) for courses

    Building Security Procedures

    A visitor screening system helps track visitors and volunteers at each school, providing a safe and monitored environment for students and staff. When parents come to pickup their child(ren), or visitors check in, they will be asked to present a valid state issued ID for entering into the system.
