Over 1/3 of the students in the Mounds View Public School District are on free and/or reduced lunches and our food shelf currently serves over 600 households each month. Not only does this important campaign bring in large amounts of needed food shelves across the state, but portions of the donations, both cash and food, are matched by Minnesota FoodShare, making this a perfect time to give. Edgewood will accept monetary and food donations from March 1 - April 7; however we will be having another specific Edgewood Drive day for the staff and students on Friday, March 31. The Board agreed to support flexibility with the following parameters if another option can be created:
- Donate food, hygiene or cleaning supplies: There will be a box in the front office for these items.
- Donate funds at school or online at www.ralphreederfoodshelf.org: Your $1 donation can provide up to $8 worth of groceries through their network of suppliers. A coin collection jar will be in the front office.
- Spread the word to others.
2017 Stockyard Days Button & T-shirt Design ContestEdgewood students are invited to participate in the 2017 New Brighton Stockyard Days Button & T-shirt Design Contest. The contest will run March 1 - March 27 and one winner will be chosen from the school. All entries must be turned in by March 27 and must include black, white and one color ONLY. The logo can be anywhere on the 2.5" size button. Winner receives a $50 cash and $50 of Stockyard Days tickets. Runners-up will be displayed at the park! Theme of the Camp: The theme for the Spanish village weekend this year is El Camino Andino. Concordia will be focusing the program on the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.
Cost: $320 includes round-trip transportation, lodging, meals and all programming.

EPAT- Volunteer Positions Needed
Want to take an active part in your school community with little time commitment...then EPAT is for you! EPAT meets five times per year (September, November, February, April, and July). EPAT supports/hosts the following events: Back-to-School Picnic, Back-to-School Unity Event, Fall Fundraiser, Staff Grants, Spirit Wear, Ralph Reeder Foodshelf/Snack Pack Program, and Staff Appreciation throughout the year.We are looking for parents to take over a few roles as we have current EPAT members moving on with their 8th graders next year. Positions available for next year are: EPAT Chair, EPAT Treasurer, EPAT Staff Appreciation Coordinator (Welcome Back Staff Lunch, Fall Communication Night Staff Meal, Spring Communication Night Staff Meal, May Staff Appreciation Breakfast). Food Taste Testing: Earn some extra $$CASH$$ and sample some really great food. All you have to do is log on and register at www.fpitesters.com.
Box Tops: Please save all of your box tops and turn them in at Edgewood. There is a drop box in the front office of the school. This is just another way to earn money for our kids. Please be sure Box Tops are not expired as they will not accept.
