Over 1/3 of the students in the Mounds View Public School District are on free and/or reduced lunches and our food shelf currently serves over 600 households each month. Not only does this important campaign bring in large amounts of needed food shelves across the state, but portions of the donations, both cash and food, are matched by Minnesota FoodShare, making this a perfect time to give. The more that's donated, the bigger the match...and Edgewood Middle School wants to help in this fight to end hunger! Here's how you can help:
Edgewood will accept monetary and food donations from March 1 - April 7; however we will be having another specific Edgewood Drive day for the staff and students on Friday, March 31. Students and staff who bring a monetary donation ($1 or more) or food donations can wear their favorite hat for the day.You can find more information here. Thank you for your support!Start Times Work ContinuesAs the School Board continues to work toward a start times decision this spring, a transportation consultant asked the District to consider adjusting some parameters. The Board agreed to support flexibility with the following parameters if another option can be created:
- Donate food, hygiene or cleaning supplies: There will be a box in the front office for these items.
- Donate funds at school or online at www.ralphreederfoodshelf.org: Your $1 donation can provide up to $8 worth of groceries through their network of suppliers. A coin collection jar will be in the front office.
- Spread the word to others.
