The 2017 Chalkboard Capers Show Will Soon Be Here!
It's Time to Order Your Tickets and Donate to our Scholarship Fund.
What is Chalkbaord Capers?
The Chalkboard Capers Scholarship Show is a variety show that is written, directed, and performed by staff from the Mounds View School District in conjunction with the Mounds View Education Association. Please join us for a night of entertainment including short skits, singing, dancing, and musical delight. You are sure to leave laughing, crying, or at the very least, with a smile! The proceeds from this event provide scholarships for graduating students from the Mounds View School District. Your outstanding support in the past has made it possible for numerous scholarships to be awarded.
Please help us again this year by purchasing your tickets early. All performances will be held at Irondale High School.
The 2017 performance schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, April 5- 5:15pm Dress Rehearsal
Thursday, April 6 - 6:30pm
Friday, April 7 - 6:30pmSaturday, April 8 - 1:00pm and 6:30pm
*During our 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 8th show, a drawing will be held to give away prizes for attending elementary students. Please note: NOT every student will receive a prize.

Donations by individuals and businesses to the scholarship fund are an important part of Chalkboard Capers. Additionally, donations of prizes for our children's show and gift card donations or adult raffle prize donations help support our cause.
For contributions valued at $50 or more, your business will be listed as a supporter of Chalkboard Capers with your printed business card in the 2017 show program. Business names will be printed in the program for all other donations. In addition, we encourage teachers to patronize your business and advertise your business in our monthly "Swap Sheet." Finally, your business will be listed in the credits when the show is aired on Cable T.V. Channel 15.

Start times work continues
As the School Board continues to work towards a start times decision this spring, a transportation consultant asked the District to consider adjusting some parameters. The Board agreed to support flexibility with the following parameters if another option can be created.
• Some elementary schools and middle schools might have slightly different start times within their levels.
• For efficiency, the entire fleet of different-sized buses might be used more creatively, depending on neighborhood densities or traffic patterns.
This spring, the District will continue to work with the consultant and bring updates to future School Board meetings. Communication and information about start times will continue to be shared with families through e-newsletters, at School board meetings and updated at www.moundsviewschools.org/starttimes. Community Activities and Program Offerings
In addition to the youth programs and enrichment opportunities available through the District's community education department, a number of activities, camps and youth programs are hosted by area cities, local businesses, community organizations and school PTA groups.
