All Highview 8th graders have been invited to sign up to meet in small groups with Dr. Eller during the first week of May. Students will be asked what they liked about going to Highview, what things they think we can do better, and will be asked to share an ideas or suggestions that they feel will make Highview an even better experience for our future students.  Hawk Pride!

Students at Highview Middle School are recognized each year for academic excellence by achieving a cumulative 3.66 grade point average for the first three quarters.  Students who qualified for this award were sent invitations today via U.S. Mail.  Any student that feels that they should have received a letter, but did not, should  contact their dean or Dr. Eller as soon as possible.

Aimed at young women, Girls In Focus participants will first watch Miss Representation and discuss representations of women in the media before using CTV video equipment to create their own PSAs. Girls In Focus is open to youth aged 11-14 who identify as female or non-binary. They don't need any prior experience, and it's entirely free! We can also provide transportation for those who need it.

Young Lenses takes place during the first week of summer, June 12th-17th, at the Shoreview Library, and students can register at tinyurl.com/younglensesmv17. The deadline for registration is Friday, May 26th, at 4:00pm.

If you have any questions, please contact Jordan or Sarah at tens@ctvnorthsuburbs.org or call 651-792-7531.  Visit the website ctv15.org/teens for more information about Young Lenses and other programs.

Now that spring is here, the Highview Gardening Club will begin meeting again. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Minowitz in Room 224.

Our first track meet is scheduled for Tuesday, May, 2 at Chippewa Middle School.  Volunteers are needed to help run the meet.  About 15 volunteers are needed.  You would be needed from 3:30-6:00 PM (hoping to end sooner!).  If you are able to help, please contact Sam Carew at Sam.Carew@moundsviewschools.org or at 651-621-6720.

Thank you so much to our parents for helping us to implement our new drop-off and pick-up procedures in our Highview Middle School Parking Lot.  These changes are helping us to provide a safer environment for students, parents and staff.

    • Parents must drop students off in the small parking lot in front of the school. We are asking parents not to enter the bus lanes.
    • Parents will no longer be allowed in the bus loading area between the hours of 7:15 - 8 a.m. and 2:15 - 3 p.m.
    • Parents using the parent pick-up/drop-off area will now be required to take a right turn only when exiting the parking lot.
    • When dropping off or picking up a student, please pull ahead to the furthest open space.  This helps alleviate congestion and helps things to move along more efficiently.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.  If you have any questions please feel free to send me an email at sheila.eller@moundsviewschools.org.
