After years of consideration and an intensive eight-month public review, the School Board approved start times changes that feature an 8:35 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. schedule for the high schools. The high schools’ current schedule is 7:25 a.m. – 2:05 p.m. The new schedule will go into effect in fall 2018, giving parents, students and staff more than a year to adjust schedules and make plans for the 2018-19 school year.

To view the 2018-2019 start times for all schools, visit www.moundsviewschools.org/starttimes.

Current program offerings will remain in place in all schools, and in the coming months schools will determine how to structure before- and after-school programs. At the April 25 School Board meeting, the Board asked for a mid-year planning report in advance of the 2018-19 school year, and it committed to reviewing start times every three years as required by policy.

Go to Irondale High School on Saturday, May 6 from Noon - 5PM for a day of fun at the ballpark. There will be games and prizes for the kids and some great baseball to watch as the Knights take on the Mounds View Mustangs at 1PM and the St. Francis Saints at 3:30PM. Bring the whole family and support your home team. Concessions will be available for purchase. The baseball field is located behind the high school.

Thank you so much to our parents for helping us to implement our new drop-off and pick-up procedures in our Highview Middle School Parking Lot.  These changes are helping us to provide a safer environment for students, parents and staff.

    ·         Parents must drop students off in the small parking lot in front of the school. We are asking parents not to enter the bus lanes.

Parents will no longer be allowed in the bus loading area between the hours of 7:15 - 8 a.m. and 2:15 - 3 p.m.
Parents using the parent pick-up/drop-off area will now be required to take a right turn only when exiting the parking lot.
When dropping off or picking up a student, please pull ahead to the furthest open space.  This helps alleviate congestion and helps things to move along more efficiently.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.  If you have any questions please feel free to send me an email at sheila.eller@moundsviewschools.org.
