    Oral History Project

Oral Histories give us insight into the everyday lives of common people from different time periods. Seventh graders conducted interviews with members in their community to better understand the similarities and differences they share. The project provides a meaningful vehicle for developing speaking, writing and listening skills, as well as building bridges between generations. The unit culminates with students transcribing the interviews and sending them to interviewees as a gift meant to preserve their histories.
