The purpose of Parent Information Night is for parents to have the opportunity to experience their child’s daily routine at Highview as they meet their child’s teachers and move from class to class.  Parents will experience a shortened version of a typical school day.  In each class, parents will receive an overview of the course, find out how grades are determined, learn what assignments will be like and hear how the teacher feels parents can best help their students be successful.  We also see this evening as an opportunity for parents to meet the principal, associate principal and their child’s dean.  We will have copies of your student’s schedule available that evening.

6th Grade parents are invited to join us for a 6th Grade Parent Information meeting the same day at either 5:15-6:00 PM or 8:00-8:45 PM in Room 153.  We have lots of information for you about how we can work together to create success for your student.

7th Grade parents are invited to join us for a Laurentian Parent Information meeting the same day at either 5:15-5:45 or 8:00-8:30 PM in the Learning Center.  Parent Chaperones will meet from 8:00-8:30 in Room 202.

If you haven’t already, sign up for ParentVUE.  ParentVUE is a parent portal that gives parents secure, electronic access to their student's records. Teachers and staff in all of our schools use this system to provide families with more consistent and reliable communications about their child's progress.  Parents of middle school students can view attendance records, test history, schedules, grades, assignments and personal information. Personal Learning Plans can be accessed on ParentVUE and parents can even make payments for meals and activity fees.

We look forward to meeting all of our parents and look forward to a great year. We hope to see you there!

Registration is still open for Boys/Girls Tennis, Coed Cross Country, boys/Girls Soccer, Volleyball and Ultimate Frisbee.  Register online or get a paper registration form in the office.

Co-ed Cross Country practices at Irondale High School.  Students will meet in the Highview Lobby and take a bus over to IDHS.

Want to be the first to get your hands on a new book? Join Highview's Book Review Team!  Many of Highview's newest books stop here first, before going into any classroom library or into the media center -- and YOU get to be the first to read and review them! Every other week, we get together over a cup of hot chocolate and talk about our latest reads. At the end of the meeting, you'll get to pick out your next great read! This year, we'll be creating reviews for HIghview's Media Center website, and we'll also have the option of posting our reviews on GoodReads.com.
