    Picture Retake Day

7:00 AM - Open Gym and Girls Ensemble

    7:15 AM - Open Library

For the first time in 18 years, the District is asking residents to consider a bond proposal to add room at all schools in response to rising enrollment and stressed capacity. What does this mean for Highview Middle School?  You’re invited to attend a community meeting on September 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Highview. A School Board member, District administration and our school principal will present information and answer questions about the Election Day bond proposal for Mounds View Public Schools. All are invited to attend this meeting or any of the other meetings scheduled this fall. Learn more at www.moundsviewschools.org/facilities.

All students who have not previously been photographed this school year will have their picture taken on Picture Retake Day on Friday, September 29.  All students must be photographed for the yearbook and for their school ID.

If you are interested in purchasing school photos, order forms are available in the school office or orders may be placed online now at mylifetouch.com.  Highview’s Picture Retake Day ID is MI217129Y1

If students wish to have their photo RETAKEN, they must bring their old photos to school with them on Picture Retake Day.  They should bring the photos to the Lifetouch photographer when they have their picture taken.

We have a great problem!  So many kids want to be in Art Club…we are going to have two!  6th grade Art Club will meet on Mondays after school; 7th and 8th grade on Tuesdays after school.  If you have a conflict, please see Ms. Skildum or contact her at lisa.skildum@moundsviewschools.org

Thank you so much to our parents for helping us to implement our drop-off and pick-up procedures in our Highview Middle School Parking Lot.  These changes are helping us to provide a safer environment for students, parents and staff.

    • Parents must drop students off in the small parking lot in front of the school. We are asking parents not to enter the bus lanes.
    • Parents will no longer be allowed in the bus loading area between the hours of 7:15 - 8 a.m. and 2:15 - 3 p.m.
    • Parents using the parent pick-up/drop-off area will now be required to take a right turn only when exiting the parking lot.
    • When dropping off or picking up a student, please pull ahead to the furthest open space.  This helps alleviate congestion and helps things to move along more efficiently.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.  If you have any questions please feel free to send me an email at sheila.eller@moundsviewschools.org

Special Education District Overview and Parent-to-Parent Connectedness

    October 3, 2017   6:45 - 8:15 p.m.

Mounds View Public Schools District Center

    (4570 Victoria Street N, Shoreview)

Bev Zelinski, director of student services at Mounds View Public Schools, will provide an overview of District special education services. After this short presentation, the SEPPAC co-chairs will lead a parent-to-parent discussion group. Discussion will include how parents can help each other navigate the system and advocate for their child. This is a great opportunity to connect with other parents who also have children receiving special education services within Mounds View Public Schools.

Registration is still open for Boys/Girls Tennis, Boys/Girls Soccer, Volleyball and Ultimate Frisbee.  Register online or get a paper registration form in the office.

If you have any questions, contact Sam Carew at 651-621-6720 or Sam.Carew@moundsviewschools.org

Starting Monday, September 25th, bus drivers may check bus passes if they question the student's eligibility of ridership.

Students that need an alternate bus stop are required to complete a Bus Stop Change Form. A Temporary Bus Pass/Revised Permanent Bus Pass will then be issued.  Students will not be allowed to ride home with friends or use another bus simply by giving the bus driver a parent/staff note.

The Highview English Language (EL) Department is looking for parents and/or adult community volunteers to work with recently arrived immigrant students who are learning English. If you are available to volunteer, please contact Marjie Hay (651-621-6790) or Victoria Wheeler (651-621-6769).
