    Join the Highview Science Olympiad Team! Science Olympiad competitions are like academic track meets, consisting of a series of team events.  Each year, a portion of the events are rotated to reflect the ever-changing nature of genetics, earth science, chemistry, anatomy, physics, geology, mechanical engineering and technology. By combining events from all disciplines, Science Olympiad encourages a wide cross-section of students to get involved. Emphasis is placed on active, hands-on group participation. 

    Sound like fun?  .  The team will meet on Tuesdays after school in Room 222 starting on October 17th.  Registration forms are available from Mr. Zey in Room 222 or in the front office.



    Want to learn about Native American culture and history?  Join the Highview Culture Club!  Meetings will be every other Monday after school in Room 170.   Some activities include language, hand games, and traditional foods.  First meeting will be Monday, October 9th



    This fall, voters will consider the School Board’s facilities bond proposal to add room at all schools throughout the District in response to rising enrollment, aging facilities and stressed capacity.

    But thanks to early voting in New Brighton, residents of New Brighton can vote today. 

    From now through November 6, residents of New Brighton can vote in person at New Brighton City Hall, 803 Old Highway 8, NW.

    Hours of voting:
    Monday through Friday                       8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 
    Saturday, November 4                        10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

    The Minnesota VFW is hosting their annual essay contest for students.  The theme this year is “America’s Gift to My Generation.”  Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade are invited to participate.  All essays should be in English with no color or graphics and cannot be less than 300 words or greater than 400 words in length. 

    Students should see their ELA teacher for more information.  Essays must be submitted to the office by Monday, October 30th



    Tickets are on sale now for "Rock the School House," a fundraising event supporting the Mounds View Schools Education Foundation. On Saturday, November 11, parents, educators and community leaders will gather at Vadnais Heights Commons from 6 p.m.-11 p.m.

    The evening includes a wine & spirits toss, brief program, a live and silent auction and fund-a-need. This year, guests will be treated to some of our very best musical talent and scientific minds.

    To purchase early bird tickets now until October 10 visit www.moundsviewschoolsef.org. Ticket includes heavy appetizers. There will be a cash bar offering beer, wine and mixed drinks. 

    Last year’s event sold out in record time and raised more than $50,000 in support of Mounds View School district programs.
