New Board Chair elected
Every year during the annual Organization of the School Board, the Chair calls for nominations for Chair, Vice Chair, Clerk and Treasurer – after which the Board votes on the nominations. This year, Jonathan Weinhagen was nominated and elected Chair, and Amy Jones was nominated and elected Vice Chair. In addition, the Board approved the election of Sandra Westerman as Clerk and Bob Helgeson as Treasurer.
Early College access update
Mounds View Public Schools continues to be innovative by providing access and opportunities to students in the area of Early College. Participation in rigorous courses has continued to rise, and this participation closely resembles the District's high school demographics. New relationships have also been cultivated, and these partnerships have enhanced an already strong and vibrant program. Assistant Superintendent Jeff Ridlehoover provided information about the Early College program and talked about a new Pathways to Possibilities program which will provide District students with the ability to explore a variety of industry pathways and occupational opportunities.
