    It is time to celebrate! On Wednesday, June 6, all Edgewood students and staff will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities aimed at celebrating the achievements, friendships and connections made this school year. Each grade level will spend the day with their teachers and classmates immersed in fun and memorable activities. THANK YOU TO EPAT for your contribution to the fun day we have planned! Below are the schedules for all the grade level celebrations. Please note that with the 7th grade schedule ONLY, there is a permission form for the movie selection

    class trip 8th Grade Class Field Trip

    The 8th Grade Class will be taking a field trip to the University of St. Thomas and the Science Museum on Wednesday, May 30. Students will leave Edgewood around 9:00 a.m. and return in time for dismissal. There is NO COST to students for this trip. Eighth grade parent chaperones are needed for this fun outing to run smoothly. If you can help out, please contact Shannon at shannon.mildenberger@moundsviewschools.org. Watch for more information via e-mail from eighth grade staff. 

     

     

    steam STEAM Showcase

    Our STEAM Showcase will take place on Friday, June 1, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. The community is welcome to come at that time to check out the students' amazing creations from this semester's STEAM classes. Guest judges will be needed during the STEAM class from 1:30-2:30. If you are interested in helping to "judge" the projects, please contact Ms. LaPanta at darcy.lapanta@moundsviewschools.org.

    Yearbook Yearbook Information

    A limited supply of yearbooks will be available for sale at $20 each on Celebration Day, on Wednesday, June 6. Eighth graders will have first dibs, then seventh graders and, lastly, sixth graders. Please be sure to bring your money on Celebration Day if you want a yearbook!

    KK KnightKrawler Robotics Second in State

    Congratulations to Irondale's KnightKrawler Robotics on their 2nd place performance this past weekend at the MSHSL FIRST State Robotics Championship at the U of M! KnightKrawler had an amazing season and we would like to thank and recognize our seniors: Mariam Adewale*, Vincent Bahnemann*, Kevin Bergmann, Faarij Binmahfooz*, Selena Blanchard, Neely Drake*, Daniel Dunn, Ian Johnson, Brett Larsen*, Jason Marcano Salto, Kori Mulligan*, Mohammed Taqiuddin*, and Reece Wittman*.     Irondale Annual Spring into Fall Event

    Attention all fall of 2018 incoming 9th grade Irondale students and parents,

    Please join us at Irondale High School on Wednesday, May 30, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. to celebrate the start of your high school career. You will learn about all Irondale has to offer in the summer and fall even before you start the first day of classes, and get a jumpstart on freshman year!

    At this event you will……….

    • Meet your Dean/Sign Up for 4 Year Plan Meeting (15-minute sessions at 6:30, 6:45, 7:00, 7:15, 7:30)
    • Take a tour of the building with a current Irondale student
    • Explore your options to get connected at the Fall Activities Fair / Meet your Coach or Advisor
    • Confirm the activiation of your ParentVue and StudentVue Accounts
    • All students who attend will receive a FREE Irondale T-Shirt.

     

    girls fitness Girls Fitness Club

    Calling all girls entering grades 8 - 12 in the Fall 2018. Join the Girls Fitness Club this summer. We will spend the first hour doing a combination of cardiovascular exercises, strength training and yoga. The last half hour will be spent either discussing a health related topic or cooking together. We will cook a healthy meal together once a week! The topics we will discuss includes hydration, stretching, nutrition, sleep, stress, and more! We will meet for six (6) weeks, three (3) times a week and will only cost you $100.00!      color guard Middle School Color Guard

    This summer we have another exciting opportunity for kids interested in color guard! Our Middle School Color Guard program will start Tuesday, July 10, at 5:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for kids going into 4th grade through 8th grade to learn, grow, and experience Color Guard. We will be participating in three parades along with one field show. Registration is open now until Friday, July 6, and can be found here.     Seventh and eighth grade athletes who wish to participate on an Irondale High School sports team will register online. Before you begin your online registration, approval must be obtained from the middle school principal or dean, the high school principal, activities director and coach. In addition, signatures from both student and parent/guardian are also required. Please complete the following consent form and deliver to the high school activities office before you begin the online registration:

    Kick off summer with a late night at Nickelodeon Universe sponsored by Community Partners with Youth on Saturday, June 9, from 10:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. Cost is $25/wristband for unlimited rides, ropes course, and zipline. A flyer can be found here
     
     
    mouthguard FREE Mouth Guard Clinic
     
    Pura Vida Orthodontics is hosting a FREE mouth guard clinic on Thursday, July 26, between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This will be a time when athletes of all ages, who currently do not have braces, can come and have a custom mouth guard made for FREE!  Walk-ins are welcome - no appointment is necessary.
