    Seussical Seussical Musical Auditions
    The Edgewood Drama Department is excited to get started with our production of Seussical, Jr. We will be holding auditions Monday, September 10, and Tuesday, September 11, after school. Any call backs will be Wednesday and possibly Thursday that same week. All students are welcome to audition but they must bring a parent-signed audition form to their audition. Those forms and an information sheet are available in student services. Hope to see your student on stage!

    LEC 7th Grade LEC Trip Information

    Thanks to all who attended our 7th Grade LEC information sessions during Orientation.  The trips will take place the week of Monday, October 22 through Friday, October 26, 2018, which will fall between MEA and Halloween. All registration forms need to be completed and returned to the front office by Wednesday, October 10. Early, “choose your trip” registration forms need to be turned in by Friday, September 21.

    • All students in grades 6 - 8 are encouraged to get involved and participate. No experience is necessary.

    • Students are to receive an equal opportunity for playing time during practices and competitions. Emphasis is placed on skill development, teamwork and good sportsmanship.

    • Parents are invited and encouraged to come to competitions and support their children.

    • Transportation will be provided to and from all games/matches. It is the parents'/guardians' responsibility to pick up students after the competition. Failure to do so will result in your student not participating on the next scheduled activity date. 

    NEW THIS FALL Running club will be offered two days per week at all three middle schools for students in grades 6 - 8 that enjoy running without competitions. Click here to register.

    Sports available this fall are: Soccer, Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee, and Volleyball. Sports will begin the week of September 17, with the exception of Volleyball which will begin the week of October 29.

    volleyball Girls Volleyball

    Irondale High School is having its first ever all middle school traveling volleyball team. The team will be made up of 7th and 8th grade girls from Highview and Edgewood. This program will be run by Irondale High School with a seven week season and around 10 matches. Try-outs will take place at Irondale High School on Wednesday, Sept. 5 - Friday, Sept. 7, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Irondale Gym. More information can be found here


    school bus High School Activities Busing

    If your middle schooler is participating in high school sports, PLEASE NOTE that this school year, the Irondale after-school activity bus routes will depart at 5 p.m., not at 4:30 as previously communicated. This change is in response to the statewide school bus driver shortage that is impacting our district and districts around the state. We wanted parents and students to have this information in advance of the school year, so you can plan ahead.

    consent Middle School Registration/Consent Form

    Seventh and eighth grade athletes who wish to participate on an Irondale High School sports team will register online. Before you begin your online registration, approval must be obtained from the middle school principal or dean, the high school principal, activities director and coach. In addition, signatures from both student and parent/guardian are also required. Please complete the following consent form and deliver to the high school activities office before you begin the online registration:

    As part of the Music at Mounds View Series, come see Koo Koo Kanga Roo on January 13, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mounds View High School Auditorium. Koo Koo Kanga Roo is the dance-a-long comedy show from Bryan and Neil, two friends who set out to experiment with live music and make it more fun. Armed with nothing more than an iPod, two mics, one giant rainbow and some gold sneakers, Koo Koo Kanga Roo puts on an all-ages dance party that invites everyone to join in.

    EPAT supports our staff and students in a variety of ways, from providing food items for staff, to chaperoning for events, to providing funds for teachers/students for various activities (back-to-school picnics, grade-level celebration days, etc.).     EPAT's Fall Fundraiser Kick-off will take place on Thursday, September 27. Order forms and money will be due on Tuesday, October 9, and orders can be picked up in the cafeteria on Tuesday, November 13, - just in time for the holidays!

    FPI Food Taste Testing - Earn some extra $$CASH$$ and sample some really great food. All you have to do is log on and register at www.fpitesters.com.
    Box Tops Box Tops - Please save all of your Box Tops and turn them in at Edgewood. There is a drop box in the front office of the school. This is just another way to earn money for our kids. Please be sure Box Tops are not expired as they will not accept.
    We are in need of a parent volunteer to take over the Box Tops program. If this is something you are able to do from home, please let us know!
