Parents may withhold permission to have their student photographed and/or videotaped during school-day classroom activities, learning experiences, and/or media events. Please complete and return this form ONLY if you do NOT wish for Mounds View Public Schools to publish your student's appearance, image or name on any recorded medium. This Publish Opt Out Release is applicable and valid for up to 12 months from the date of signature.
The Special Education Parent and Professional Advisory Council (SEPPAC) is a group of parents and staff whose purpose is to share information and advise the District on behalf of students receiving special education services. The Council welcomes members who represent all schools and programs in the Mounds View School District.
Special Education District Overview and Parent-to-Parent Connectedness
The first meeting for the 2018-19 school year will be held on
September 27, 2018 from 6:45 – 8:15 p.m., at
Mounds View Public Schools District Center (4570 Victoria Street N, Shoreview)
Bev Zelinski, director of student services at Mounds View Public Schools, will provide an overview of District special education services. After this short presentation, the SEPPAC co-chairs will lead a parent-to-parent discussion group. Discussion will include how parents can help each other navigate the system and advocate for their child. This is a great opportunity to connect with other parents who also have children receiving special education services within Mounds View Public Schools.
IRONDALE'S - Disney Pajama Concert
Come to Irondale's annual Disney Pajama Concert on Tuesday, October 2 @ 6:30pm in the Auditorium! Hope to see you there!
Young People’s Orchestra Concerts :
The annual Young People's Orchestra Concert is on Tuesday (9/25) at 6:30 PM in the Mounds View High School Cafeteria. This concert is specially designed for young children ages from preschool to high school. This year's concert selections will feature famous characters from all across the universe as they visit and perform with the orchestra, It will include one extinct dinosaur, a Jedi Knight, a wizard from Hogwarts, as well as a few of our favorite superheroes! Come dressed as your favorite character and bring your blanket and enjoy the show. $4 per student & $6 per adult ($20 max per family) at the door.
Irondale's 26th Annual Music of the Knight
Join the Irondale Marching Knights and Director Bill Sucha for the 26th Annual Music of the Knight Marching Band Competition on Saturday, September 29, at 5 pm. This competitive field show is a spectacular combination of music, marching, movement, and visual effects featuring three classes (A, AA, AAA).
The day includes: 13 local and regional marching bands from Minnesota and Wisconsin, Irondale’s Junior Color Guard, and an exhibition show by the Irondale Marching Knights, featuring students from both Irondale and Mounds View, performing this year’s show, “The Most Astounding Fact.” Tickets available at the gate; $10 for adults, $5 for seniors (60+) and K-12 students, and free for preschool. Parking is limited, however off-site parking at Edgewood and Sunnyside are served by shuttles starting at 4pm. In case of rain, the show will move indoors.
Rock the School House Early Bird Tickets on Sale Monday
Early bird tickets go on sale Monday, September 17, for the 7th annual "Rock the School House," a fundraising event supporting the Mounds View Schools Education Foundation and the students in our District.
On Saturday, November 10, Mounds View District staff, parents, and community leaders will gather at Vadnais Heights Commons from 6 – 11 p.m. for a fun evening including a live and silent auction, fund-a-need and the always lively wine and spirits toss. In addition, the evening will showcase performances from Mounds View students displaying the very best of their musical talents.
We are excited about the opportunity for more guests this year as tables will now seat 10. Your ticket purchase includes heavy appetizers and great entertainment. There will be a cash bar offering beer, wine and mixed drinks. Click here for additional event information.
MVPS Curriculum Advisory Committee
The Mounds View Public Schools Curriculum Advisory Committee is seeking representatives to serve on the committee for the 2018-2019 school year. Committee members work in partnership with the district and community to gain knowledge and provide feedback about about curriculum and other instructional issues.

In order to ensure the safety of students during arrival and dismissal, we will be closing the lower parking lot from 8:05 – 8:35 a.m. and 3:05 – 3:35 p.m. ALL students being transported by parents to and from school need to be dropped off/ picked up using the carpool lane in the back of the building. We appreciate your support in using the carpool lane to ensure the safety of all.
Building Security Procedures
A visitor screening system helps track visitors and volunteers at each school, providing a safe and monitored environment for students and staff. When parents come to pickup their child(ren), or visitors check in, they will be asked to present a valid state issued ID for entering into the system.
