Students will be having their photos taken on Monday, October 8th. Photo order forms have been sent home in your child's folder. Collect Box Tops from everyday foods and products you use in your home and help the Kindergarten Center! Each month your child will bring home a collection tracking sheet to return to school. The money we receive from the Box Tops for Education Program helps us provide some of the extras for classrooms. Last year we added several leveled texts to classroom libraries, which makes the Snail Lake literacy experience even stronger. Our goal for the year is to clip 22,000 box tops. In addition, the classrooms have a friendly competition against eachother to see who can collect the most!

Monday evening we held our first PTA meeting of the year and we had a great turnout! We heard updates from School Board Member Amy Jones, Principal Durand, and teachers from each grade level! Volunteer Interest Form
PTA supports many programs and activities at Island Lake and runs only with the help our many volunteers. Have you thought about volunteering and are wondering how to get involved? We have created a volunteer interest form with a very short summary of some of the programs we support and the volunteer opportunities that go along with them. Mark your calendars…the Fall Book Festival is coming soon! The book festival is held at Turtle Lake Elementary School at 1141 Lepak Court, Shoreview, MN 55126.
Turtle Lake Elementary School has partnered with the Red Balloon Bookshop for a high quality event with a local, independent business. All proceeds go directly to the Turtle Lake Elementary School library. The book festival will be held in Turtle Hall and the hours are as follows:
