HAVE YOU SEEN A TURQUOISE UMBRELLA?
Have you seen a lost umbrella? It is turquoise in color with a kitten pattern and a blue green handle. Sadly, this umbrella was a special one as it belonged to a student's grandmother. If found please return to your child's classroom or the  Snail Lake Office.

If you have not turned in your student's immunization records, please do so to the health office as soon as possible so they can update their records.  They can be faxed to 651-621-8005 or emailed to marilee.mossberg-ardito@moundsviewschools.org.

    GROCERIES FOR A CAUSE- Kowalski's

Snail Lake Kindergarten Center is fortunate to be chosen by Shoreview Kowalski's to participate in the Groceries for Good Causes program. Each time a receipt is placed in the Snail Lake Kindergarten collection box at the front of the store we receive one vote.  (No matter the value each receipt counts for one "vote'.)  At the end of each quarter the votes are tallied and Kowalski's awards the top 12 finishers a share of the $3000 prize.

We would sincerely appreciate your "vote" next time you shop at Kowalski's!  Thank you!

    SOCIAL LEARNING UPDATES
As our students continue their journey through our Social Emotional Learning lessons with Mr. Alexander,  they will be learning all about Hidden Rules and Expected & Unexpected behaviors.  Here are some common language you can try using at home with them.
    • Hidden rules: are the behavioral expectations we commonly associate with a situation/place, but that are not typically said out loud when you arrive
    • Expected Behaviors: are those behaviors that make sense for the place you are and the situation you’re in
    • Unexpected Behaviors: are those behaviors that may make people uncomfortable or confused because they don’t fit the situation or place you’re in

All of our kindergarteners will have a chance to hear about how it feels to go somewhere new, and that the unexpected can feel a bit scary but that we all have the tools to discover the hidden rules! We will also talk about how unexpected behavior can make others feel and how we can show empathy in new situations.
