    Ralph Reeder November Food Drive

    Edgewood Eagle Leaders will be hosting a food drive November 1-16, to benefit the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf. Eagle Leaders will be collecting monetary donations for the "Thanksgiving for All" Project (your monetary gift provides a turkey for a family in need), food items for the Thanksgiving Bags for Ralph Reeder Food Shelf families, as well as any non-perishable food items. All donations should be placed in the food shelf bin in the front office. ALL donation dollars will be matched the month of November so your donation will go twice as far! Thank you for supporting your local food shelf! See here for the non-perishable food items needed for the thanksgiving bags. 


    Bookfair Scholastic Book Fair

    The Scholastic Book Fair is right around the corner! Students and families can buy books beginning Monday, November 5, through Thursday, November 8. We'll be open during school hours and also Thursday evening, November 8, from 5:00-7:15 p.m.

    All profits from the Book Fair support our new Birthday Books Program - every student picks a brand new book from our collection on their birthday (or half-birthday!).
    Cherrydale Fall Fundraiser Update
    Just a reminder that the Fundraiser orders will be distributed on Tuesday, November 13, after school. There was a misprint in the Cherrydale packet that stated Thursday, October 25. 

    TeamWorks TeamWorks International Study

    Recently, Edgewood parents/guardians were notified via e-mail about our upcoming efforts to learn more about the student experience here at Edgewood Middle School. One of our efforts is to host a series of guided conversations with parents, students, and staff. Our parent guided conversation sesson will take place on Thursday, November 15, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Edgewood Middle School with a light dinner provided. If you would like to participate in this conversation, please call the front office at 651-621-6600 by Friday, November 9.


    Yearbook  Yearbooks On Sale Now!

    Edgewood Yearbooks are now on sale until Friday, November 16. Early bird prices range from $15 - 27, depending on the package you choose. Order forms are available in the front office.     Halloween Donate to Dress Up

    Donate $1 to the LEO Club and dress up on Wednesday, October 31. All proceeds will go to Feed My Starving Children. Please note costume guidelines

    1. Costumes must not interfere with regular school activities. If you cannot participate in class due to your costume, you may be asked to take it off.
    2. If your costume has a “prop” (bottles, pacifiers, etc.), please follow the regular rules about food and beverages in class.
    3. Masks will not be allowed.
    4. Costumes may not involve violent themes that include cuts, dismemberment, blood, weapons, etc.
    5. You must wear your costume to school. Do not bring “extra” costume items and plan to dress up, apply make-up or hair sprays before schoolYou need to be on time to your classes.
    6. Please observe all the regular school expectations.
    7. A table will be set up in the lobby that morning to collect your $1 and your hand will be stamped.
    8. Plan for a safe, enjoyable day.

    Seussical Fall Musical

    Join Edgewood Middle School as students present Seussical Jr. on Thursday, November 8, and Friday, November 9, at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 10, at 1:00 p.m. A pasta dinner will be offered before the performance on Thursday, November 8, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

    Class Triip School Trip to Concordia Language Villages!

    ¡Hola Padres! Hello Parents!  Before MEA, we had the wonderful staff from Bemidji's Concordia Language Villages Spanish Camp visit our Spanish class.  We played games, sang, danced, and talked about Spanish camp... all in Spanish!  Linked below is a flyer with more information, as well as the link to registration, through Mounds View Community Ed.

    Registration opened Monday, October 22, and the cost is $325 for four days: May 16-19 (Thurs.-Sun.) and payment is due in March. Please contact Gina Fosse with any questions at gina.fosse@moundsviewschools.org. We hope your child can join us at Spanish Camp in May!

    Parent Chaperones are Needed! You don't have to ski, we are looking for Chalet-only chaperones too. As a Chaperone, you would be responsible for taking attendance and maintaining order on buses (coach bus).     Into the Woods Irondale Drama's Fall Musical

    We are excited to announce our 2018 Fall Musical, Into the Woods! The play will take place at Irondale High School's Auditorium, 2425 Long Lake Road, New Brighton. 

     The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

    Wrestling Middle School Wrestling - ID/SLP/St. Anthony

    Join the Irondale, Spring Lake Park and St. Anthony for wrestling Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from Monday, November 5 - Friday, December 21, in the Spring Lake Park Wrestling Room from 3:15 - 4:30 p.m. Busing will provided from MV Middle Schools, and St. Anthony to Practice at SLP. Bus Schedule Pickups are as follows: Edgewood @ 2:30 p.m., Highview @ 2:40 p.m., and St. Anthony @ 2:50 p.m. Students will be responsible to find a ride home after practice. There will be 3-4 wrestling meets with other schools during the season.     Colorguard Irondale Jr. Color Guard
    Come Dance, Spin, and Perform with the Irondale Jr. Color Guard. This group is open to all 4th-8th graders in the Mounds View School District and will be the second competitive season for the Jr. Guard. There will be an information meeting held in the Irondale Choir Room at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13.     Nordic Nordic Skiing
    Irondale's Nordic skiing team is looking for new skiers! Seventh and eighth grade boys and girls are able to join the high school team. The season starts on Monday, November 12, and goes till late January/early February. More information is available on our Team WebsiteWe have had lots of middle school skiers join the team in the past and there are several current middle school skiers right now! The team has lots of equipment to help first year skiers try the sport without making a big financial commitment.

    MVHS Orchestra Book Fair Fundraising Concert
    The Mounds View High School Orchestra is holding its annual free Book Fair Fundraising Concert at Barnes & Noble in HarMar Mall in Roseville from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 30. Many small chamber orchestra groups will be performing different music throughout the evening. The orchestra will receive a percentage of the total sales (no online sales) that day from Barnes & Noble.

    kookoo Koo Koo Kanga Roo

    As part of the Music at Mounds View Series, come see Koo Koo Kanga Roo on January 13, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mounds View High School Auditorium. Koo Koo Kanga Roo is the dance-a-long comedy show from Bryan and Neil, two friends who set out to experiment with live music and make it more fun. Armed with nothing more than an iPod, two mics, one giant rainbow and some gold sneakers, Koo Koo Kanga Roo puts on an all-ages dance party that invites everyone to join in.

    Lockermates are available for sale at $20 each. The colors available are black/red, royal blue/green, fuchsia/black, purple/teal, or orange/navy. Please email jenniferparlin1@gmail.com to order. The Lockermate will be available at Edgewood for your student to pick up.
