    COMMUNICATION NIGHTS
    All classroom teachers are having communication "conference" nights from 4:00-7:30 on November  7 & 8.  This is a time for you and your child's teacher to discuss the progress your child has made in kindergarten so far this year and to answer any questions you might have. Teachers have sent out a Sign Up Genius link to all families to sign up for a time slot, all families are recommend to attend one of the nights if possible. 

    Specialist teachers will be available both nights for a brief check in if you would like to drop in to touch base regarding your child’s time in specialist classes. Feel free to stop in before or after meeting with your child’s classroom teacher.
     
    GROCERIES FOR A CAUSE- Kowalski's
    Snail Lake Kindergarten Center is fortunate to be chosen by Shoreview Kowalski's to participate in the Groceries for Good Causes program. Each time a receipt is placed in the Snail Lake Kindergarten collection box at the front of the store we receive one vote.  (No matter the value each receipt counts for one "vote'.)  At the end of each quarter the votes are tallied and Kowalski's awards the top 12 finishers a share of the $3000 prize.
     
    We would sincerely appreciate your "vote" next time you shop at Kowalski's!  Thank you!

    Thanksgiving Baskets: The Ralph Reeder Food Shelf will have Thanksgiving Baskets available to families. Please contact 651-621-6280 for further details.

    Face to Face Registration –
    Register for children ages birth to 12th grade.
    1. During any daytime food shelf appointment (Nov. 1 thru Nov. 30th ) appointment line
    651-621-6280. You will receive food and your toy pick up times the same day OR
    2. Wednesday, Nov.14th or 28th from 9:30 to 11:30 - walk in registration - Please
    Bring: picture id for yourself, current piece of mail (proof of residence), some form of
    identification on your children (medical cards, school ids, birth certificates, or social security
    cards). Important: Your children may only be registered for one holiday toy program and
    must either live in the Mounds View Public School District or attend school here. Toy
    registration ends Nov.30th. After this date, call the food shelf at 651-621-6280.                               
    PASS IT ALONG EVENT
    The Pass-It-Along event is seeking donations and volunteers to help make this event successful.  Pass-It-Along is a FREE event sponsored by the Mounds View Schools ECFE Parent Advisory Committee. Donations are sorted and passed on to families in need in the community.  There will be a donation box in the front lobby of the kindergarten center. 
     
    Donations we are seeking:
    - Gently used infant/toddler clothing
    - baby blankets
    - older children clothing up to size 16
    - all ages toys/books
    - maternity clothing 
    - winter gear
    - grocery bags with handles
    - We do not accept equipment (cribs, swings, gates, potty chairs, etc.) 
     
     
    Event Date: Monday, November 19th, 2018 at the Early Childhood Education Center in New Brighton (500 10th St. New Brighton, MN 55112)

    ROCK THE SCHOOL HOUSE

    If you’ve been buried in new fall routines and are just starting to get back into the swing of things again, we have great news. We have extended our early bird ticket prices for Rock the School House for one more week - grab a few today!

    General admission tickets are available at the early bird prices until Monday, October 15th, so get them before they’re gone. Your ticket purchase includes heavy appetizers and great entertainment. There will be a cash bar offering beer, wine and mixed drinks. Click here to purchase your tickets.

    Saturday November 10th at the Vadnais Heights Commons promises to be a great night of fun and fundraising. Look for an announcement later this week regarding a special musical partnership that will make the evening all that more memorable.

    ISLAND LAKE PTA NEWS

    FALL FAMILY FUN NIGHT!

    Mark your calendars! Island Lake International Night is coming up—Friday November 9th, 6pm at Island Lake Elementary!  We are so excited to announce that we have 21 countries and 1 ethnic group being represented by parent-run stalls on the day. The stalls will showcase pictures, artifacts, flags, and food samples!  Everyone is encouraged to come dressed in national costumes or colors of a flag representing any country of their choice.  Anyone who comes in costume can take place in the “Parade of Nations” fashion show! No pre sign up necessary, just come dressed to impress!!!

    Some other highlights of the evening will include, Indian Dance Guest Performers, Henna Tattoo Booth, Make Your Own Flag Craft, and various Ethnic Food Trucks.

    Come and join in a fun celebration of community and culture!
