    important Important After-School Reminder

Safety and proper supervision of our students is important to us so students staying after the regular school day MUST be in a supervised program by 2:35 p.m. After-school activities end at 3:25 with buses departing at 3:30. Any students waiting for a ride at the end of the regular school day need to be picked up no later than 2:45. If you cannot arrive by 2:45 to pick up your student, we ask that your student go into one of the after-school programs until your arrival.

    snow day Snow Day Reminder

Always assume schools are open and in session, unless you hear or see differently.

Families will receive a text, voicemail and email message within 20 minutes of a decision to close or delay school.

In addition, the District will post school cancellation information on District and school websites, Facebook pages and Twitter feeds. The District will also notify local media outlets, but cannot guarantee if or how the media will report the information provided.

On winter days when the metro-area traffic is significantly congested because of poor road conditions, parents should expect most school buses will be similarly delayed.

To learn more about school-closing criteria, visit here.

FTC Edgewood FTC Robotics Team Results

The Edgewood Robotics Team, Team #13787 Eagle Tech competed in the North Branch Qualifier Competition on Saturday, December 1, at North Branch Middle School.

This year's tech challenge was ROVER RUCKUS℠. The object of the game was to attain a higher score than the opposing alliance (two teams on an alliance) by descending from the Lander, collecting Minerals from the Crater, sorting and scoring Minerals into the Cargo Hold of the Lander, performing Autonomous tasks, and navigating to specific parts of the Playing Field. Alliances earn points by placing Minerals into their alliance’s Cargo Holds and Depot. Gold Minerals must be placed in the Gold Cargo Hold and Silver Minerals into the Silver Cargo Hold to score. A link to the game animation can be found here.

Eagle Tech's robot focused on placing their team marker in the Depot autonomously and scoring Minerals into the Cargo Hold during the driver controlled portion of each match. Eagle Tech did not advance to the finals; however, it was a fun and rewarding experience for our students who participated in this event.
