unity The Unity Event Is Coming

The Unity Event is a festival in place at Edgewood to help students celebrate the wealth of diversity that exists within our school building and the community. In our school, we have students from all different walks of life, who speak different languages and have unique traditions. With that we believe that all of us coming together and supporting one another is truly what makes Edgewood great! At this free event students will experience, learn about, and engage with a variety of different backgrounds. There will also be ticketed stations to purchase authentic snacks and play carnival games. This special event is held each year after school on the last Friday in February. This year's event will take place on Friday, February 22.

All families and community members are welcome to be involved. If you are interested in being a Cultural Table Host please contact Chris Van House at christian.vanhouse@moundsviewschools.org or 651-621-6673. Any proceeds raised from this event benefit student support groups at Edgewood Middle School.

legos 7.2 Million LEGOs Collected Last Year!

These LEGOs were collected, sorted, organized and packaged into kits or barrels for easy distribution.

These LEGOs will be used across the district to start new elementary level robotics teams, and also supply existing teams with supplemental parts. Already, your donation has fully equipped thirteen new K-3rd grade LEGO League Jr. teams, and two new 4th grade LEGO League teams. Additionally, the District LEGO League Jr. Coordinator has sent out supplemental LEGO kits to twenty-four second year LEGO League Jr. teams. This community has also given a great stockpile to pull from in the future years as the Mounds View robotics program continues to grow.

Our district-wide robotics program is only in its second year, but with the generous donations from the community we know it will successfully impact hundreds of students over the years.

To learn more about FIRST robotic programs visit https://www.firstinspires.org/.

Thank you, Titanium Allies Robotic Team, Shoreview, MN...TitaniumAllies@gmail.com

    important Important After-School Reminder

Safety and proper supervision of our students is important to us so students staying after the regular school day MUST be in a supervised program by 2:35 p.m. After-school activities end at 3:25 with buses departing at 3:30. Any students waiting for a ride at the end of the regular school day need to be picked up no later than 2:45. If you cannot arrive by 2:45 to pick up your student, we ask that your student go into one of the after-school programs until your arrival.

    snow day Snow Day Reminder

Always assume schools are open and in session, unless you hear or see differently.

Families will receive a text, voicemail and email message within 20 minutes of a decision to close or delay school.

In addition, the District will post school cancellation information on District and school websites, Facebook pages and Twitter feeds. The District will also notify local media outlets, but cannot guarantee if or how the media will report the information provided.

On winter days when the metro-area traffic is significantly congested because of poor road conditions, parents should expect most school buses will be similarly delayed.

To learn more about school-closing criteria, visit here.
