    IHS Boys Soccer Rally Towels


    The Booster club is planning to hand out a limited supply of free promotional Boys Soccer rally towels at the homecoming week game scheduled Thursday, September 20th at 5PM.  Join the booster club at Adagio's (2052 Silver Lake Rd) after the game to celebrate a Knights victory!  Adagio's is donating 10% of all in house dining sales that evening to the Boys Soccer program

    We will confirm if this event will occur by Wednesday night.
    Changes from email of what in what each player brings:
    Varsity- pasta
    JV - a gallon of milk (boys love chocolate milk, but white is good too!)
    JV2 - dessert
    B Squad - veggies
    C squad - fruit
    Every player should have received a t-shirt (neon yellow) from the Boosters. If your player has not received the shirt, email janellmomsen@yahoo.com

    The boys had a great time at Feed My Starving Children while helping a good cause.

    The staff told us we packed enough food to feed 100 kids for a year!

    Parent Info Meeting / Carbo Load Potluck at 6pm IHS Cafeteria on 8/20

    Please bring the family info handout and Booster fee ($50 for C, B and JV players, $150 for Varsity)

    Players please bring food according to your team; each family brings an item

    All teams will be practicing 4-5:30pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Edgewood; in addition, Varsity will be practicing from 1-2:30pm

    All teams are scrimmaging Park on Tuesday 8/21, 1pm @ Edgewood

    All teams have games at East Ridge on Thursday 8/23 

    All teams have games against Mounds View at Irondale on Saturday, August 8/25

    Practices throughout the season will be Monday-Friday, 4-5:30pm, except for game days.  Any changes that deviate from this schedule will be determined by individual team coaches and communicated to players.

  • Information For Fall 2018

     Information for Fall 2018

    Tryouts begin on August 13, there will be two sessions a day, 11:30-1pm and 2:30pm-4pm.  Tryouts will be at Edgewood Middle School.  The first session will focus on soccer skills, and the second session will focus on fitness & conditioning (get running boys!).  Teams will be announced that Wednesday afternoon.  Players will not be allowed to tryout if they are not registered, so make sure to do this prior to tryouts.  Players need to have a current physical on file (good for 3 years) before registrating.  

    Booster fee of $50 per player - this covers socks, t-shirt and banquet.  There is an additional fee for varsity players of $100, which includes the hotel overnight.

    All 8th and 9th-graders will be automatically placed on a 9th-grade team and will start with practices on the 13th; they will not participate in formal tryouts.  In order to be placed on a higher-level team, 8th and 9th graders must demonstrate skills, during practices, that would be consistent with a junior varsity or varsity level.  This would be determined by the coach(es).  8th-graders who are age-eligible to play Fall Soccer through MYSA, may participate with both Irondale and MYSA if they are on the 9th-grade team.

    All teams will be volunteering at Feed My Starving Children the evening of August 15, bus leaves Irondale at 7:30pm; parent chaperones are welcome!

    Team pictures, and intrasquad trainings will be Thursday, August 16.

    Parent Information Night, specific to Boys' Soccer, will be August 20, preceded by an all-team/family carbo load - more information to come.

    Practices the week of August 20, will be 1-2:30pm and 4-5:30pm.  During the school year, practice will be 4-5:30pm at Edgewood Middle School.

    Varsity will have their first scrimmage, against Wayzata, on Saturday August 18, followed by varsity overnight.  Players will be going directly to the hotel from the scrimmage, and will return to Irondale via bus Sunday morning.  Their next scrimmage will be against Park @ 1pm on August 21.

    All teams will have their first game on August 25 versus Mounds View on Irondale's turf.

    Parent Night - September 22

    Senior Night - October 2

    Banquet - October 28, lunchtime (Vikings have an evening game).

    VOLUNTEERS are needed!  Thank you to Sheri Helland for taking over concessions!  All parents/families are expected to help fill concessions shifts, more information to come.
