    2019 GRADUATES FINAL TRANSCRIPTS


    All final transcripts have been submitted according to schools designated in your senior survey. You can see this information in your Naviance account. Go to 'Colleges I'm applying to' and then click on Manage Transcripts. It is not uncommon to receive an automated email from your new school requesting a final transcript. This does NOT mean that you need to request one again. If you are concerned, contact their admissions department and let them know when your transcript was sent.     REPORT CARD QUESTIONS


    If you have questions regarding a grade on your report card, complete this form Summer Grade Inquiry Form and you will be contacted by administration over the summer.


    MOVING OVER THE SUMMER?

    AP STUDENTS & FAMILIES


    AP scores were available online beginning July 9.  Students will not receive their scores in the mail.  To get scores, students must sign up for a College Board account by going to apscore.org. If you can't remember your AP number and/or need your student ID number, contact Diana Phillippi at aptesting@moundsviewschools.org


    SPRING MCA EXAMS


    Student's MCA Exam results will be mailed home in September or October.


    CLASS OF 2020


    Graduation is Monday, June 1.


    BUS SCHEDULES, PASSES & TRANSPORTATION


    Only students with a bus pass may ride the bus.  Students may board and get off buses only at the stop listed on their bus pass.  If you live within two (2) miles of the school, there is a per-student fee for bus service.  This fee is $225.00 for new students and $250.00 for those registering late.  ALL STUDENTS who live more than two (2) miles from school and want busing must REGISTER FOR BUSING.  Students will be mailed a postcard / bus pass with bus number, pick-up time, location, and approximate drop-off time in the latter part of August.  Contact transportation@moundsviewschools.org, if you do not receive a postcard / bus pass.


    FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL


    The school year will begin on Tuesday (9/3) for students in 9th grade and students new to Mounds View High School.  All students return on Wednesday (9/4).  The school day begins at 8:35 AM and ends at 3:15 PM.


    STUDENT PARKING PERMIT APPLICATION


    The Parking Permit Application is available on the front page of the high school website.  The last day to apply is August 16.  Permits are for FULL-YEAR only. Cost for a permit is $225.00.  Students can maximize their potential for receiving a permit by applying as part of a car pool.  Before permits will be approved all drivers must settle any obligations and/or fines.  The following list will be used when granting permits:

    PRIORITY 1 
    Students enrolled in Genesys and 916 (2nd PERIOD ONLY).  Activities NOT INCLUDED are: PSEO, Mustang Mentors, Sports, Student Council, Out of District, Hybrid Courses, Early Release, and 916 (1st Period).  

    PRIORITY 2
    Carpools of THREE (3) LICENSED drivers

    PRIORITY 3
    Carpools of TWO (2) LICENSED drivers

    PRIORITY 4
    One (1) licensed driver by grade seniority of senior, junior, sophomore
    APPROVED applications will be notified via email after August 20.  Email will include payment instructions and requirements needed to receive the permit.  PROOF OF A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE must be submitted at the time the permit is issued.


    SCHEDULE DISTRIBUTION & SCHOOL ID PHOTOS


    Pick up your schedule on Thursday (8/22) between 1-8 PM.  More details will be in the Back To School packet, which will be mailed the first week in August. If you are not able to come on Thursday (8/22), schedules will be available in Student Services PM beginning Friday (8/23) until school starts.  Picture make-up day is Thursday (9/12) during the school day.


    STUDENT PLANNER


    Students will have the opportunity to purchase a student planner for $7.00 at the MV DECA Store during Schedule Distribution Day on Thursday (8/22) between 1:00-8:00 PM.


    SCHOOL SUPPLY--CALCULATOR


    The Mounds View mathematics department encourages all students to have access to a graphing calculator.  The most common calculator used in 9th grade is the Texas Instruments TI-84+ or TI-84 Plus CE. If you have access to a TI-83 calculator, that would also be an acceptable calculator (and cheaper).  Although it is not mandatory that students have a Texas Instruments calculator, they are what teachers will reference in class, as well as what teachers are most knowledgeable about.     PSAT / NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFYING EXAM


    The PSAT (Preliminary SAT) is Wednesday (10/16) at North Heights Lutheran Church.  Round trip transportation will be provided to the testing location from MVHS.  It is recommended that any junior who expects to go to college take the exam as preparation for the SAT, which they may take later in their junior year.  This assessment is also the qualifying exam for juniors hoping to receive a National Merit scholarship or award. Registration and payment will be completed online using ParentVue/Feepay beginning in August.  Click here for more information on the exam.


    SENIOR PORTRAITS


    Photos submitted for the yearbook, MUST be submitted to the yearbook advisor, Mrs. Kleinjan (Room 140) no later than Wednesday (10/9) for yearbook senior editor approval.  Submit photos via email to mvhs.senior@gmail.com in .jpg format.  David Bank Studios will be at Mounds View on Thursday (10/24) during lunches to photograph students who still need photos, at no charge.  


    GIRLS GOLF FLAMINGO FLOCKING FUNdraiser

    MUSTANG CLASSIC FOOTBALL FUNDRAISER

    BOWLING TEAM


    Flaherty's Arden Bowl will again sponsor a bowling team (co-ed) for the fall of 2019 season. Captain’s practice begins Monday (8/5) and Friday (8/9) at 3:00 PM. Regular practice sessions will be August 12 and August 19. The first match of the season is Friday (9/13). The season will end around Thanksgiving, unless the team advances to post season tournaments.  The cost is $105.00 per player. This amount covers the cost of a team shirt (if needed), and costs involved with practice time and match play.     BOYS HOCKEY FUNDRAISER GOLF CLASSIC


    The MV Boys Hockey team announces the 8th Annual Boys Hockey Golf Classic.     “FREAKY FRIDAY” FALL MUSICAL AUDITION INFORMATION


    Auditions for this year's fall Musical are Wednesday (8/21) and Thursday (8/22) from 12-5 PM. Callbacks are Friday (8/23) from 12-2 PM, if needed.  Bring your completed cast application (with a parent signature and head shot), contact information sheet, and conflict calendar to the audition.  Rehearsals begin Monday (8/26) from 3:30-6 PM for the whole cast. Crew and costuming rehearsals begin on Tuesday (9/3).     SPORTS PHYSICALS—NO PHYSICALS AT MVHS OR IHS THIS SUMMER


    Physicals are good for three (3) years from the date of the exam, and must be valid for the entire season the athlete will be participating in.  A valid physical must be in our system in order to open the online registration form.  New physicals require 24 hours to process.  To check the date of a student’s last physical, log in to your ParentVUE account and select the “Student Information” tab.  The current physical date is located at the bottom of the page.
